Once, in a place far away, there lived a group of “Pawookees.”

Their land was named Niceville. It was a pleasant and peaceful place where everyone enjoyed their own way of living. The Pawookees are strange creatures! They take short energy naps when they need them. They have mood crystals in the middle of their foreheads that let everyone know what kind of mood they are in. Dark blue means very happy and content; light green means moody and kind of sad; bright red means very angry and annoyed. The Pawookees eat honey candy that comes from the cling trees when they have to pep themselves up to handle a situation and defend themselves or their land. When the Pawookees eat the honey candy from the cling trees, they jump and jitter uncontrollably! In the town of Niceville, there are many generations of Pawookee families that have lived there for years and years in peace and harmony. It is a beautiful place where the Pawookees felt no harm would ever come to them or their delightful town. Niceville has flowing streams and thick timberlands. It has lush green valleys, which are surrounded by the rainbow mountain range. Niceville has one more incredible beauty about it. There are diamelle stones everywhere in the town. The Pawookees think that the diamelles are very exquisite and lustrous. The diamelles are a natural part of their land and are never extracted. Pawookees are very protective of their land and want it to remain in its unaffected state. In the next valley, over the rainbow mountain range, and beneath this wonderful Pawookee world was the village called Slugtown. This is a filthy place where the “Gritters” live and are absolutely repulsive. The Gritters live under the tree roots. These creatures are diggers and pests. The land of Slugtown was becoming too small for the Gritters’ families. The Gritters ventured beyond their land to look for another place to live. They began traveling towards Niceville. They had never seen what a Pawookee looked like; they were very different from the Gritters. The Gritters had never seen diamelles. The gems looked so tasty! Maybe, it was their hunger speaking to them after their long journey. The Gritters gathered some of the diamelles and took them back to their homes in Slugtown. To the Gritters, the diamelles looked like the finest and delectable candy. They could gnaw right through the jewels with their long, savage teeth. The Gritters did not know that the diamelles contained unique and potent powers when eaten. The diamelles made the creature into more of what it originally was by nature. If that creature was good in nature, then they became even better. If that creature was naughty by its nature, then they became even naughtier. Oh no! Can you take a guess at what is going to happen now? Yes, the Gritters ate the diamelles. They became even more naughty… The Gritters shared the uneaten pieces of the diamelles with other Gritter families in their town. More and more, the Gritters were becoming naughty and evil.

A group of Gritters decided to dig their way to Niceville to gather more diamelles. Because the rock was so dense, the Gritters were unable to dig and eat their way into the town of Niceville. There was only one way to get to the town of Niceville. The Gritters would have to roam over the rainbow mountain range and through the roots of the cling trees. Their journey was lengthy and intense. The Gritters kept their thoughts on the mouth-watering diamelles.

Once the Gritters reached the town of Niceville, they were surprised by the Pawookee alarm dog named, “Ruff.” The Pawookees had taken their honey candy along just in case they had to defend their land. All of the Pawookees surrounded the Gritters. It seemed as if the Gritters were out-smarted and out of luck searching for more food. The Pawookees were not about to surrender their beautiful land or any of the natural diamelles. The Pawookees discussed with the Gritters why the diamelles were so precious to their town of Niceville. They were protecting their land for future generations of Pawookees. The Pawookees reasoned with the Gritters and showed them that talking is much better fighting. The Pawookees told the Gritters that they could help them grow their own food for their town over the rainbow mountain range. “Squooch” was a type of food that the Gritters could grow underground and eat always. Both sides, the Pawookees and the Gritters, were happy and content once again! The Gritters grew their own food and saw no reason to take anything that belonged to someone else again. The Pawookees and the Gritters remained friends and helped each other with future endeavors. The Pawookees were delighted that they could help another kind of creature help themselves.
