Chapter 1
Pharaoh Aten sat at the edge of his bed. He was enjoying having one of his servants on her knees greedily sucking at his cock. While he was still in his prime, some thought he was getting old. He had fathered six children, but only four had lived. It was a cruel thing for a father that he had to close the door to the tomb on his child. Yet, Aten thought, if it was one of his daughters he would not have been that upset or down about it. After all, one needed strong sons to rule. Girls were only good if you wanted to make peace. “Enough!” he yelled at the servant on the floor. He stood up, backhanding her hard in the face. “You suck a cock like you would take care of my boots.” Aten walked over to his dressing table, wrapping a linen skirt around his hips. “Meryre!” he yelled. Meryre was the only man that the Pharaoh could trust. He was middle age, but looked as fit as the rest of his army. He wore no sandals on his feet, with a simple brown skirt and one large necklace of Horus, the Sun God, around his neck. “Yes, my lord,” Meryre said as he bowed down to the ground. “Give this girl to the guards. Make sure they teach her well. I do not want her around or in my sight until she has learned how to suck cock the right way.” “Yes, my lord.” Meryre stood up, taking the girl firmly by her arm. She was crying at the harsh words her king had spoken about her. “Where is Aneksi?” “She is in the temple of Isis, my lord.” “She prays to her for nothing.” Aten started to cough. “Leave me.” By the time the door shut, Aten was coughing hard. He found that each spell he had made it harder and harder for him to catch his breath. When his spell was over, he noticed blood in his cloth again. His body was failing him. 3

******** Princess Aneksi, the first born child of Pharaoh Aten, was kneeling in front of the Goddess Isis, thinking. Her back was to the only entrance to the temple. But her hearing was in tune to all that was going around her. She was dressed not as a princess, but as a warrior. Her gold skirt was high on her thighs, cut up on the sides, making it easier for fighting and moving. Her top was in gold linen and tied behind her neck and back, with barely enough fabric to cover her breasts. Gold cobra bands were wrapped around her upper arms, while plain gold bands were around her bare ankles. She wore a simple headband with gold chains hanging in her black hair to show that she was a member of the royal family. In front of her, on the ground lying near her knees were the only weapons she ever used, her Sais. These were the weapons of a skilled fighter. They were only fifteen inches long with tree sharp spikes at the ends of them. They looked like the pitchforks the field hands used. Suddenly Aneksi’s thinking was interrupted by a faint hissing sound. She looked up at her beloved Goddess and waited patiently. Patience was something Aneksi was very good at. From around Isis’s neck a black cobra appeared. Its hood was extended and looked ready to strike. She smiled at the snake, standing up with her Sais. “I leave you with our mother,” she said to the cobra. Aneksi walked out of the temple to see her father ride in his chariot like hell was on his heels. He looked a lot paler today. She noticed that he looked like he had lots on his mind. “You spend more time in that damn temple than you do with your training,” Aten growled at her. “Good morrow, Father.” “We need to talk. Now!” Aten stepped down from his chariot, walking towards her. Aneksi followed him, waiting for his anger to calm down some. They were heading for the work out field, where all his best fighters went to train. 4

“I am getting worse,” Aten said, not missing a beat as he walked. “The damn physician can’t do anything more for me.” “So your own plague has came back to bite you in the ass,” Aneksi said. Aten gave her a dirty look and kept walking. “The contest has to start now. We don’t have any more time.” They stopped walking when they got to the gate of the training field. Aneksi watched her baby sister, Tia, fight one of the new men. When she brought him down, the instructor kicked the guy. The new men all thought that they were supposed to go easy on the girls, but got hurt big time instead. “Do you really think this is wise?” Aneksi said. “I don’t want a husband.” “I am doing this so you can rule. There is no man out there who can beat you, after this our people will follow you.” “So that is your main plan. Marry them off, leaving me to rule.” She turned to her father. “What makes you think I want your crown?” Aten smiled at his oldest child. “You want it. I can see it in your eyes.” “What you see in my eyes is my hatred of you.” Aten smiled even bigger. “Good. Hate me. It makes you stronger. As long as you hate me, then I know my crown will be safe.” He opened the gate and walked in. “No man will rule this kingdom.” Aneksi watched her father walk over to his youngest daughter to pat her on the back. “What do you want, Hakem?” she asked, not turning around to see the priest behind her. “He has always wanted you to hate all men.” She turned around, looking at the young boy who had become a very powerful priest. “As long as your heart is made of stone, his kingdom will be run the same way after his death as it is run now.” “What have you seen?” She watched him closely as he stared down at the ground. 5

When he looked back up at her, Aneksi was slightly shocked. His eyes were almost all the way in the back of his head. “Your destiny comes riding a horse. His skins will have your blood on them.” “You are talking in riddles again, Hakem.” Aneksi started to walk past him, but he gripped her arm firmly. “What I have seen is what you must face. He will be the one that beats you.” “No man has ever beaten me.” “This one will. He comes with a purpose, and has the strength to conquer all.” “There is no man around here that can beat me.” “This one will. Do not taunt him, my princess. This man is much stronger than even your father.” Hakem let go of her arm, bowed to her, then walked away. ********** “I’ve decided to have dinner with you girls tonight to inform you of my plan,” Aten said to his daughters. “What will happen might not be to your liking.” “Since when have you ever done something that pleased us?” Bebi, the second youngest daughter said. Bebi had the light brown hair of her father, but was built like her mother, Aten’s fourth wife. She was short and slim but carried herself with as much confidence as the rest of her sisters. Hetepi, his second eldest daughter, looked exactly like his second wife. Her hair was dirty brown but she stood tall and proud. Nothing on this girl was dainty at all. From the way she carried herself, he knew no man would be able to take her down easy. Tia was the child from his one and only true love. She was the only one that had gotten any love from him. He recalled the day she was born, still mourning the day her mother was taken by the Gods. It was the day he turned his back on all of them. The day he started to show the signs of illness. Aneksi was the child of an arranged marriage to make peace. He hated being forced at the young age of eighteen to marry. He ended up being very cruel to her mother. Aneksi used to love him dearly. That came to a screeching halt the night she saw the cruel things that he did to her mother. Her heart turned to ice towards him. That was the time 6

he turned her into a fighter. He never wanted her able to be beat down, like he had beat down her mother. Aten would never admit that he cared for his daughters, since he did as much as he could. It was true, as Pharaoh he wanted and needed sons, but he had trained his daughters to be like sons. He wished he could love them like he would have loved his sons. “I will be holding a special contest here. It’s high time you all had husbands,” Aten said, drinking deeply from his wine. Hetepi stood up suddenly. “I won’t fight for a husband that you will kill later on!” Aten sat back on his pillows as he looked up at his daughter. “First of all, you will do what I tell you to,” he said calmly. “Secondly, I do not intend to kill anyone. Without sons my kingdom is lost, and then you all will be lost. You need good, strong, powerful husbands.” “We have to fight for our virtue,” Aneksi said, looking down at her food. “What?” Bebi asked. Aneksi looked up at her father. “He wants us to fight to stay single.” Aten smiled at Aneksi. “The one who brings you down will become my son.” Aneksi lay back on her pillows, looking at her father with murder in her eyes. “Each of you will be a great prize with your skills; only the best of the best will win,” Aten said. “When will you change?” Aneksi asked. “Does Osiris himself need to strike you down?” She stood up. “I fight for your sick pleasure. I have watched you use every girl in this palace for your own sick desires, now you want us to fight to give you the sons that you do not even deserve. When will it ever end?” “It ends, girl, when I am lying in my tomb!” Aten said his own anger rising. “The way you are going, Osiris will let you drift.” She turned her back, starting to walk out of the room, but was stopped by his voice. “You’ll fight, or you leave this palace, girl.” Aneksi turned back around and glared at him. “I will fight not for you, but for me. 7

No man will ever tell me what to do, or treat me like you have treated so many.” Aten smiled his cruelest smile. “You will be brought to heel, my girl. I will live to see it.” Aneksi smiled back at her father. “It’s a shame when what you create ends up turning on you.” Aten picked up a date, popping it in his mouth as he watched Aneksi walk out of the room. He knew there had to be at least one man out there, strong enough to bring her down and earn the title of Pharaoh ********** Aneksi stood at her horse’s stall, rubbing his nose when Hakem stepped out of the shadows. The boy stood still as a statue, waiting for her to make a move. Hakem was only thirteen summers, and stood no taller than Tia. His head was shaved bald and he wore just a simple white cotton skirt with leather sandals. To some, Hakem was a freak, but to Aneksi he was her light for her to see through. The day his mother handed him over to Pharaoh Aten at the age of five, Aneksi had taken him under her wing. Aten declared that he would be hers. Aneksi named him her priest. Ever since that day, Hakem had been able to know when his princess needed him. Tonight was one of those nights. “Tell me more about him,” Aneksi said. “He is a very strong powerful man,” Hakem answered. Aneksi stopped rubbing her horse’s nose and walked over to Hakem. “And how will I know this man is my destiny?” “He will be the one to melt your heart.” “Argh!” Aneksi yelled. She threw one of her Sais in the direction of Hakem. It lodged in the wooden doorway just inches from his head, but he didn’t move. Aneksi walked over to it, pulling it from the wood. “I have no heart,” she hissed at him. “One by one, you all will fall to man.” “My father is twisted. He will be lucky if Anubis takes him.” “Anubis will take him, but after your bedding.” “You really see my fate, you little twerp?” 8

Hakem smiled. Aneksi hadn’t called him that ever since the time he told her that she would beat her instructor. “I see this man bearing the crown of Egypt on his head and you as his queen.” Aneksi sat down on the ground. “I can’t fight this, Hakem. For the first time in my life, I don’t feel very strong.” Hakem squatted down in front of her. He took her face in his young hands, making her look at him. “This man is your destiny, not your enemy. He will make you realize for the first time in your life that you are a woman, not a lonely warrior. The Gods gave you this gift while your father is trying to take away what you are. Take back your heart and live.” “I don’t want to belong to a man.” “I’ve seen what lies in your path. One way or another, he will take you. How he does this is entirely up to you.” Hakem stood up, holding his hand out to her. “Now come, my Queen. Your father has ordered an inspection on all of you. You really need a bath.” Aneksi took his hand and stood up. “Are you saying that I stink?” “Your horse smells better than you.” Aneksi put her arm around the boy as they walked back. “Remind me again, why I keep you around?” ********* Hakem was sitting on the floor in Aneksi’s chamber, facing the door as she took her bath. He was working on a special head piece that she would wear for her upcoming battles. A soft breeze from the Nile was blowing the curtains; torches burned brightly as servant girls went about their tasks. Pharaoh Aten was heading towards them with the high priestess. Hakem knew this woman was evil. She served not the King, but herself, and was just as cruel as Aten. “Here he comes,” Hakem said. “He is bringing her.” “Do you expect it to be anything different?” Aneksi asked from her bath. “I think you are the only one she is really scared of.” Hakem smiled as he placed the gold headband back in his bag. He stood up, 9

walking over to a servant girl who had the drying cloth. He took it from her, standing at the side of the small wading pool with it, opened for Aneksi to step into. “She knows I see what’s inside of her.” Aneksi stood up, raising her arms for Hakem to wrap the cloth around her body. She started to walk over to her bed, giving her pet monkey a piece of fruit on the way. “I am surprised you can see anything at all after looking in her mind.” Hakem motioned for the servant to start preparing Aneksi to be examined. He brought a bowl of warm water, in which he mixed some of his own herbs. “I believe that you are the only one he still insists on examining,” Hakem said, handing the bowl to a servant after he got it thickened up. “He thinks I have given my virtue away. What will he have to bargain with then?” “Your beauty would be enough.” “Hah!” Hakem walked towards the door, opening it just as Aten was about to. Hakem lowered his head in respect as the Pharaoh walked into the room. “Is she ready?” “She awaits your inspection.” Hakem watched the priestess walk into his lady’s room, looking as if she was a queen. It always bothered the priestess that Hakem was in the room, bothering her even more that he would watch how she examined this girl. “My lady awaits you,” Hakem said to the priestess. Hakem motioned for her to follow him over to the bed. As was the custom, he always made a servant watch. It was the only way he could fully protect Aneksi’s virtue. He had a very strong sense that this woman wanted to break the treasure that only a husband had the right to. Hakem parted the curtains, moving Aneksi legs till he had her in the proper position. He watched closely as the woman tried to ram her hand hard into Aneksi’s body. With the potion he had made, nothing was going to enter her body at this time. “Well?” Aten demanded from the door. 10

The priestess gave Hakem a dirty look before she stood up from her task. “She is untouched.” “Good.” Hakem walked the group out of the room, closing the door tightly. He motioned for the servants to start pouring fresh water for another bath. He walked over to Aneksi sitting down on the bed next to her. “How many more times must I go through that horror and embarrassment?” “That was your last.” “How is it that you know so much yet, you are so young?” “I was told once that I was born to be by your side.” “Oh, My God!” “The next time you are touched like that will be from the one who holds your destiny in his hands.” Hakem kissed her on the forehead and then pulled her up. “Come. A fresh bath awaits you.”

Chapter 2
“You must always treat them with the respect they demand,” Queen Kakra said to her daughter, Aneksi. “They only strike when you strike first.” Aneksi hid behind her mother’s dress, watching her call to the baby cobra in the sand. She was only five. She knew a lot, more so than most other children her age. “Papa says not to go around them,” Aneksi said. Kakra smiled at her small daughter. “He does not know how to talk to them.” She pulled Aneksi from behind her dress. She positioned her to stand in front where the snake could see her. “Show her no fear, and no harm will come to you.” Aneksi sat on the ground in front of the cobra watching it. Suddenly, the snake stood up with her hood extended scaring Aneksi. “She is testing your strength,” Kakra said. “Be strong. Show her no fear, and she will always be there to protect you.” Aneksi extended her hand out to the snake and watched as it lowered itself back down to the ground. Kakra smiled as she watched the snake slither away from them. “Very well done.” Aneksi smiled up at her mother. Queen Kakra was in a simple white dress with leather sandals and simple, plain gold bands on her arms. She looked so delicate, so at 12

peace when she was alone with her only child. “Come. The boats await us,” Kakra said. On their way to the docks, Aneksi noticed something being stabbed by some boys. She let go of her mother’s hand, marching up to the four boys who were jabbing at a newborn boa. “Stop that immediately!” Aneksi yelled. She pushed one boy down from the group, was about to jump on another when her mother walked over. “What’s going on here?” “They were hurting the snake,” Aneksi cried. “That is the last one of them. The mother killed one of my puppies,” the boy who Aneksi pushed cried. Aneksi leaned down to pick up the tiny snake. “He’s just a baby.” “This is a unique snake. I have never seen it before.” “May I mama?” Kakra smiled. She brushed her hand through Aneksi’s hair. “You can have anything I can give.” ******** “The snake stays!” Kakra yelled at Aten. “I rule here woman, not you.” “You give her nothing but your hate!” “I let her live,” Aten growled. “It is only because the people love her more than they love you. If you were seen with her more, they might respect you more.” Aneksi heard the slap as her father hit her mother. She jumped when she heard her mother fall to the ground. With her baby snake wrapped around her arm, she stormed into her mother’s chamber. “You should thank the Gods that you live.” Aten turned just before he was about to hit Kakra again. He saw Aneksi; hate was mixed with fear in her eyes. The child that his people loved so much stood before him 13

with a judging look in her eyes. “Control the beast well. If one of my hounds dies from that boa, I will cut the head off of it, making you wear it for a necklace,” he said to Aneksi. Aneksi came out of her thoughts when Hakem entered into her bedroom chamber. She was lounging on her bench, lying on her stomach with her pet snake. Satet was wrapped around her naked body. As cool breeze from the Nile blew, caressing her heated flesh, she thought of her beloved mother. “Your fabric has arrived,” Hakem said. “Do you wish me to start now?” “I think he hated her so much that he killed her.” Hakem looked up from his inspection of the fabric at Aneksi. He saw the sorrow in her eyes as he watched the way she was petting her very large boa. It seemed like every time her father pulled something like this on her, conducted one of his ridiculous tests, she would start reliving the past all over again. “She was very sick,” Hakem said. “Trying to have that baby is what killed her, not your father.” “And who wanted the baby?” Aneksi demanded, looking at Hakem. “I was never good enough for him!” Hakem placed his fabric on the bed and sat down in front of Aneksi. “Every king must have a son. It is the way things are, the way of the world.” “So young, so wise.” Aneksi touched his young cheek. “And sometimes you can be so very stupid.” Hakem smiled and kissed her wrist. “Put the snake up. I need to get started if you want it done by the time of the contest.” “When I lose him, I lose her.” Aneksi stood up with her pet still wrapped around her body. “You are Queen Kakra’s only child. You will never lose her.” Aneksi placed her pet on the bed and went to stand in front of Hakem. She held out her arms, spreading her legs, so Hakem could get her ready. “The day she died was the day I stopped being and acting like a girl,” she said as 14

he started to place fabric on her body for measurements. “I never thought he would marry again. I need to get prepared. He felt the need to torture me.” Hakem snorted. “When has he ever showed me love? You know how he is. Tia gets all the love that his black heart is able to give. Even Hetepi gets love. Do you think he would have beaten Tia if she didn’t take the guard down the way he wanted?” “You are looking for something that will never happen. If you were a son, you would not be questioning this now.” “He had his sons. He treated them no better than he treats us.” “He lost his sons. Hold still.” Hakem pulled hard on her hips. “Do you want this tight?” “Yes.” She looked over her shoulder at him. “I will make the straps stretch some, so you will be able step into it.” “You will have the cobra’s hood extended in the front. I want all of them to know the danger that awaits them should they touch you.” Hakem smiled up at her. “He will not fear the mother cobra.” “But he should fear me.” Hakem sat back on his heels at her feet. “I have seen how he will look at you. His eyes show the possession that will run through him when he is with you.” “I will not be a possession!” “No. You will be more to him. I have seen some of the things he will do to you, things that will force you to accept the woman in you.” “That person died with my mother.” Aneksi looked over at her beloved old snake. She knew deep down that he would die soon. “He will linger on until you are taken care of. Your soul is entwined with his.” “Does he start the lessons again?” Aneksi asked, still looking at her snake. Hakem looked up at her face. He saw her pain, and knew that the lessons she would have to learn would be some that she didn’t want. It only served to remind her that 15

she was a woman, not a man. “Yes.” When he looked down at the floor, Aneksi knew right away that something was up. She stepped away, covering herself in a cotton cloth. “What aren’t you telling me?” “Pharaoh Aten has requested that I am to be his latest subject.” Aneksi turned around slowly to look at the one, the only person she had come to care about. She knew what game her father was trying to play, and it made her blood boil. “Like hell.” Aneksi stormed out of her chamber barging into her father’s. She was not one bit surprised to see him with one of the new busty young servant girls. He had her on his bed. She was in the position of being on her hands and knees with him behind, pounding into her hard. Tears were running down the girls face as he violated her roughly. “We need to talk.” Aneksi demanded. “When I’m done!” he grunted. “That shouldn’t be too long.” Aneksi crossed her arms over her chest, just standing there, waiting. Aten looked at his daughter’s hard face.
“Get out until I am done,” he said
breathlessly. “What, miss another lesson? Aten grunted again as a small orgasm hit him. He pulled himself out of girl, pushing her down on the bed. “Stay put. I’m not done with you yet.” He grabbed a piece of cloth and tied it around his hips. “Make this fast.” Aneksi poured herself a cup of wine as she sat down in his favorite chair. “You cannot and will not use Hakem.” Aten smiled. “You have feelings for him, I see.” “You can see nothing. To violate him will close the door to his sight.” “And you need that, don’t you?” 16

“So do you, old man.” Aten poured himself a cup of his wine, taking a deep drink. “Fine, for a price I will not violate him.” Aneksi crossed her legs and looked up at her father. “Haven’t you asked enough of me? What more do you want of me?” “Oh, you have so much more to give.” He finished his wine and walked back over to the girl on his bed. Crawling back on, he pushed her onto her back. “You will fight for my pleasure, to show them all what they must do to win your hand in marriage. This will get your sisters to do the same thing.” He pushed the girl’s legs apart as he pulled the cover from his body. “That’s my price.” Aneksi stood up and walked towards the door. “Fine! But you had better leave Hakem alone for good.” She slammed the door closed, as she heard the girl cry out in agony. Her father was a very cruel man, even worse when it came to his warped sense of his pleasure; pleasure of the flesh. ******* “Don’t hate him, Aneksi,” Queen Kakra said. “He doesn’t mean anything by it.” “He beats you,” Aneksi cried. She sat at her mother’s feet, a young girl of nine. “Even when you are sick. He should leave you alone.” “He is sad over the death of your brother.” “Stop making excuses for him!” Aneksi stood up, walking towards the balcony. “What would you have me do? Hate him?” “Yes!” She turned to look at her mother. “Hate him just once, as much as he hates us.” “He doesn’t hate you.” “When has he ever showed me love, or even any affection?” Kakra looked at her daughter, seeing the anger, hurt, and the fight she had in her built up. If she let Aten have his way, this loving, caring girl would become the great warrior that he wanted in a son. 17

“Come here.” Kakra extended her small hand out to her only child. Aneksi knelt down in front of her mother, placing her head on her lap. “I see you as a strong Queen to our people.” Kakra ran her fingers in Aneksi’s hair. “My time is almost gone in this world, but you need to find the strength to go on. Be whatever he wants you to be, for the crown.” “I don’t want the crown.” “You were born to rule.” Kakra saw that her mother’s hand was shaking again. Her spells were getting worse, especially with Aten beating her now. It was even worse than before. Aneksi was right, Aten would kill her. “I need my rest now.” “What do you think?” Hakem asked, standing back to look at his work. Aneksi looked at herself in the mirror. Hakem had made the finest outfit that she had ever seen. The outer layer was made of the finest golden cloth; it shimmered as the light hit it. He cut it in the triangle shape on her chest, with a golden rope to tie on her neck and back to hold it in place. Under that she had fabric covering her young breasts with a matching gold rope to hold it in place. As well as a matching gold loincloth that covered only her ass and pussy mound. It had gold rope that would stretch just enough to prevent it from slipping down her legs. Hakem showed her the cobra in front, looking ready to strike. Aneksi smiled her approval as he took a matching skirt, clipping it to her waist. “Perfect,” Aneksi said. “He might just lose if he isn’t careful.” Bebi walked into the chamber, looking like a very scared little girl. “He wants us all in his chamber now.” “It sounds as if our lessons are about to begin,” Aneksi said. She started removing her clothes as Hakem pulled out a simple tight dress. “I fear what he wants from us,” Bebi said. “He wants to show us what to expect with our husbands,” Aneksi responded. “Not all men are like your father,” Hakem said. “But men are men, no less,” Aneksi said. She walked up to Bebi, hugging her 18

tightly. “Don’t worry so much. I think whatever husband we end up with will remember that we are as strong as him, should he decide to harm us.” “Come. You don’t want to be late,” Hakem said as he opened the door. Aneksi, Hetepi, Bebi, and Tia sat in chairs that were facing their father’s bed. They watched as a young girl was brought in and stripped. Aneksi knew that her father had to be watching all of this. There was no way he could not be, but he was not in the room with them. “I think they drugged her.” Hetepi said in Aneksi’s ear. “And that surprises you?” “Are we to be drugged as well?” “No, but for us to know what is going on, they need someone willing.” A guard walked in next. Aneksi noticed that this was the one she beat badly last year after he had said something very rude to a serving girl. Upon a closer look, Aneksi realized that the girl on the bed was the girl that he had been making the comments to. “He does have a very twisted nature about him,” Aneksi said under her breath. They watched the guy undress, climb onto the bed, positioning himself between the girl’s legs. She was drugged, and being so out of it that she didn’t seem to notice anything going on around her. Suddenly, Aneksi found herself disgusted with her father as well as the shows he enjoyed putting on. She stood up, which made everyone stop what they were doing. “What are you doing?” Bebi asked. “I don’t feel like watching someone take a girl who cannot even fight back.” Aneksi said. “But father…” “But father nothing. If he wanted to give us lessons, it should be with someone who is not drugged.” Aneksi walked out of the chamber. She knew she was taking a very big risk, upsetting her father. But what he tried to pull was even worse. Drugging the one girl who told that guard no, so he could have his way with her as they all watched. 19

“I take it the lesson was not to your liking?” Hakem asked the moment she barged into the room. “Shut up,” Aneksi warned. “Ah! He did something even worse.” Hakem sat down on the floor and took out the head piece he was working on. He knew in a short amount of time, Aneksi would burst. He did not have too long in waiting for it to happen. “I can’t believe what he just did!” Hakem continued his work, listening as he always did. “The one girl in this whole place who wanted nothing to do with him, or the guards, he drugs.” She threw a cup against the wall. “And to top that off, he lets the only ass in this place beside him, fuck her.” “A week ago, something like this wouldn’t have bothered you so badly.” “Well, a week ago I wasn’t to become a sacrifice.” “You call getting a strong husband being a sacrifice?” “No. I call all of this bullshit!” Hakem placed his peace back in his bag and stood up. “Your father comes.” Aten busted into the room, looking as angry as ever. “Out!” he commanded Hakem. Hakem bowed down, leaving the room, closing the door behind him. He looked to see that Ebonee, the Pharaoh’s priestess, the one who inspected Aneksi, standing outside also. “Save your breath, Aten. I will fight as you wish; I will even get the husband you want and desire so very much. But I will not watch some man take a girl that has been drugged for his pleasure.” “I pray to the Gods that the one who takes you down does so hard.” “And I pray to Anubis that you will not get into the doors to the afterlife.”

Chapter 3
Aneksi woke in the middle of the night to the sounds of horses and wagons arriving at the palace.
She stepped out of her bed, wrapping a shawl around her
shoulders, going out to watch. 21

Aten had sent the word out two days ago that he was looking for husbands for his daughters; only the best would be allowed. He had it all planned out. The girls would do a show for them. They would even fight one of his best soldiers. This solider and guard was one of the few that could beat the girls. He was going to fight the men that would try for their hands. All very simple, yet Aneksi did not want to be part of it. She walked to the double doors that led out to a private swimming spot on the Nile. Long ago it had been cleared of the crocodiles and anything else that might be a danger to her daughter by her mother. Kakra tried with her last breath to protect her from a father that did not love her. Aneksi heard the faint hissing sound, and followed it. She saw the end tail of her beloved mother cobra. She knew that every time she would see this snake, it would show her a sign. So whether good or bad, Aneksi had to follow her. The cobra led her to a part of the Nile’s bank that Aneksi had stopped coming to. This was the very place she put her mother to rest. No tomb for Queen Kakra, no jewels on her body for the robbers to take, and no sarcophagus for her beautiful body. The only wish that Kakra ever made regarding her death was for her to be laid in her small boat that her son had made and be burned upon the Nile. Aneksi did this alone. Aneksi, alone at ten summers, watched the boat burn with her mother’s body. The last beating her father gave her mother killed her. They all had said that Queen Kakra was sick, but Aneksi knew better. She knew how cruel her father was, saw it and even felt it in the way he trained her. A ten year old girl should not have had to carry her mother in death. Aten made her strong, strong enough to carry her mother to the Nile River. Stronger than anyone would have though that a girl that young could become. She stood at that bank, her snake wrapped around her body as she watched the fire burn. Tears ran down her face at her loss as the hate she had for her father ran deep in her blood. Hate so deep, that she made an oath to herself to make him pay. She prayed to the Gods to not give him the sons he wanted and craved so much. “There you are! Come. Your father is looking for you.” Aneksi watched as her father’s priestess, Ebonee, walked towards her with a strap 22

in her hand and a mean look in her eye. “I do not have time to go running around looking for you. Your mother is having a baby.” “My mother is dead.” Aneksi said. “Don’t you sass me back, girl. I have the king’s permission to beat you if need be.” Aneksi turned around. She placed Satet on the ground and watched him go towards home. “Strike me again! I dare you.” Ebonee smiled cruelly as she began to hit Aneksi with her strap. Aneksi took hold of it, yanking it out of her hands to strike the woman on the legs. She moved quickly as Ebonee went down, sitting on her chest. Aneksi took her Sais from behind her back, cutting the woman’s cheek. “The next time you raise your hand to me, I will cut your head off and let Satet eat it.” “He will come on the morrow,” Hakem said, behind her. “Silent as the wind, you are.” “You taught me.”
Hakem walked up next to her, placing his hand in hers, like
when he was a child. “You have not been to this place in a long time.” “Would she be proud?” “Yes.” He gave her hand a squeeze. “You have beaten all the odds that your father placed in front of you.” “Why am I recalling the past?” “You are drawing strength from it.” “I feel weak from it.” Hakem took a deep breath. “The Gods are looking down on you. They give you a gift. Take it; embrace it as well as embrace life.” ******* Zafar, the second son of Min, lay on his back, letting a very nice looking wench suck on his cock greedily. Zafar was six foot three with long black hair and built like a 23

god. His shoulders and arms did not have one ounce of fat on them; his cock was just as impressive as the rest of him. When he was hard as stone, Zafar’s cock stood proud with at least nine inches of enticing meat; every woman he caroused with wanted a taste of it. He had been traveling for years. His father told him he would never have anything, since his brother would claim all he had left. After a really big fight, he packed up what he had and went off to search for his own fortune. Over the years he did very well for himself. He had won every competition which had a large purse attached to it. He bought himself the finest of everything that his money could get him, from his black stallion, his sword for fighting, and the best trainers to keep his arm in shape, to the finest women there were around. He never spent a night alone. He watched with hazy eyes as the wench sucked on his cock. She was not doing a half bad job, but not that great of a job either. “I have never had such as your cock,” she purred as she stroked him. “Please, let me ride you.” Zafar hand caressed her pretty face, motioning for his friend who was watching to come over. “I have a better idea,” he said. Zafar nudged her back to continue on his cock as his friend of many years, Sabu, stood behind her. With a powerful push, Sabu shoved himself deep inside the wench, riding her hard as she sucked on Zafar. “Harder, Sabu! She sucks a lot better when you pound her hard,” Zafar groaned out. Sabu, a blond fighter who was also a second son, moved his hips fast and hard. He knew what the problem with Zafar was, as he was starting to feel it also. They both wanted to settle down, find one good woman that could satisfy them for all time. The bar wenches were not satisfying or doing it anymore for them. While they were both rich enough to buy land. There were not many good women out there who wanted a second son for a husband. Zafar grunted out his release the same time Sabu unloaded himself in the wench. 24

Sabu pulled himself out, walking towards the bathing room while Zafar pushed the girl away from him. He looked at the smile she had on her face as she drifted off to sleep. He headed towards the bathing rooms. “I don’t know about you, but this life is really starting to get to me,” Zafar said as he sat down in the hot bath. “It was getting to me months ago,” Sabu replied “Why didn’t you say anything before now?” “You were still having fun from it.” “I refuse to go home,” Zafar said, before he dunked his head under the water. Sabu smiled as he waited for his best friend to emerge. “You don’t have to,” Sabu said the moment Zafar’s head came up. “I have heard something that you might find very interesting.” Zafar looked at Sabu, waiting to hear what he had to say. “I heard that Pharaoh Aten is looking for the best warriors.” “I don’t want to be someone’s warrior.” “Warriors for his daughters is what I heard.” Sabu waited until he had Zafar’s full attention before he went on. “They are female warriors, and only the best of the best will be able to marry them. Pharaoh Aten will give out land, titles and riches to the ones that can conquer his daughters.” “Beat them, then you have to worry about getting your throat cut.” Zafar laughed. “All are welcome, anyone who can wield a blade that is anyway.” “And you want to go?” Sabu stood up from the tub, wrapping a cloth around his hips. “We need titles to our names.” “Fine, we will go! Just don’t expect for me to fight for one of those girls. There’s a reason why no man wants any of them.” Sabu smiled. “You want a woman to take your shit.” He grabbed his pants from the wall and started to get dress. “Isn’t that what one of them is for?” 25

Sabu saw the smile that Zafar had on his face and threw the brush at him. He hated the way Zafar messed with him, especially when it came to women. “If you will get your ass out of that tub, we might be able to reach Thebes by nightfall,” Sabu said. “You are planning on fighting, then.” It was a statement not a question. “Yes I am.” Sabu pulled a shirt over his head as he strapped his sword on his hip. “I want to settle down with a good, strong woman who will give me strong sons.” Zafar stood up from his bath. “Do not treat any of them like we were treated.” Sabu looked at him with a smile. “No one should be treated as we were.” ******** Aneksi leaned against the palace wall, watching the men who had come from across the desert to fight for her hand and the hands of her sisters. She wore a simple white silk top with gold chain that went around her arms and across her back. The top was so low that anyone could see all of her breasts except for the nipples. The skirt she had on was no better. It was just as short, as the top was low with gold chains hugging her hips and down her legs to keep it in place. On a hot day like this one, Aneksi thought they should be glad she was wearing anything at all. Her beloved Sais were strapped on her lower legs with her snake wrapped around her bare feet. “You sure don’t want them to wonder about your body,” Hetepi said, standing next to her. Aneksi did not say a word as she continued to watch the men. “Father has a test for the men, to weed out the weak from strong for the competition.” “Pharaoh Aten might not like the ones that make it,” Hakem said from the shadows. “All are welcome,” Hetepi said, glaring at Hakem. “Hakem is right,” Bebi said, also joining the group. “Father will try something. He always does.” “He will start with Tia,” Aneksi said finally. 26

“He will draw someone,” Hakem replied. Aneksi was about to go back inside to change for practice when she stopped suddenly. She caught a glimpse of something black. Hakem could tell by her body language mostly that she has seen something, but seemed to be nothing to worry her. "Ah, the last two come,” he said. “My princesses, I believe it is time for you all to get ready.” “Coming?” Hetepi asked Aneksi. “Yes.” “Don’t be late again. Not for this.” Aneksi looked at her sister. “I won’t.” She looked over towards the horses. With so many horses being housed in the stables, she knew that her own horse would be very nervous and agitated. “I will stay with her to make sure she arrives on time.” Hakem said. Aneksi entered the stables to found that her horse, Duanutef, was really agitated and upset. He was jumping up, trying to kick at anyone and anything that got close to him. “Ah! Mistress, I have tried to let him out, but he won’t let me get close,” a stable hand called. “He’s pissed that so many horses are here invading his territory,” Aneksi replied. “That he is.” “We must be very quick about this,” Hakem said. Aneksi walked over to her horse. “Settle yourself down, boy!” she called to him. Duanutef recognized her voice, as he put all four hoofs on the ground. “Be good, or else we will not be able ride in the morning.”
The horse nudged her with his head as she got
closer, waiting for her to rub his nose. “Yes, that my boy.” Aneksi took a firm hold of his mane as she walked him out of the stables. Once she was back inside, Aneksi noticed two men that were grooming their horses. They were the last two to arrive in the city. The tallest one put his brush down when she walked back in, leaning against the wall, looking at her. Hakem noticed the 27

look in his eyes. “We must hurry,” Hakem said to Aneksi, pulling on her arm. Aneksi let Hakem drag her back to the palace. They arrived just before the group of men that were being led into the great hall. Aneksi joined the rest of her sisters as they lined up in the order of their birth. Aten didn’t say a word to her. “Bring in Meryre,” Aten yelled. Meryre, the head guard of Pharaoh’s army, was the strongest warrior he had. The one man that all of the girls had to fight; he was the one they could not beat. The only thing that had ever put fear into Aneksi was fighting against Meryre. Meryre walked into the hall clothed only in his loincloth and two Sais. His body was oiled down in the finest oil to be found, which brought attention to all the scars scattered all over his face and body. His long brown hair was braided in tiny braids and tied at the nape of his neck. He was the only man in the army that they feared above all else. He was also the other man, besides her father, that Aneksi hated most of all. “Are you ready to weed out the weak?” Aten questioned. “Yes, my God.” “Good! Only the strong will be left for the challenge.” “And if there isn’t anyone strong?” Aten laughed. “My kingdom will be run by my daughter, Aneksi.” Meryre and Aneksi glared at each other. Hate poured out of each one of them. “You will fight like I taught you, or I will skin your backside!” Meryre yelled at the young Aneksi.” “I am!” she cried. “You fight like a pussy of a girl!” He cracked the whip he had in his hands. “Bring him down!” “He’s a lot bigger and stronger than me!” Meryre cracked the whip just inches from her face. “Fight him as if you were fighting me.” Aneksi looked at the cocky warrior that was supposed to be one of Meryre’s best. 28

He smiled at her, blowing her a kiss. When the young warrior started to walk towards her, telling her how he was going to bring her down as well as telling her that he may even see if those breasts of hers were filling out like they should be, Aneksi blocked it all out. She watched him walk up towards her, making a huge swing with his arm, but missed her. She ducked under his arm. She kicked at the back of his knees as she heard the cracking of the bone. The warrior went down. He was screaming in pain. Aneksi walked up behind him, taking a handful of his hair, exposing his throat. She looked over at Meryre, saw the utter shock on his face, and smiled back at him. “I’ll give you what you want!” she screamed at him. Aneksi took her Sais, slitting the warrior’s throat. When she stood up, she threw her weapon at Meryre with them landing just inches from his feet. “Then let’s get this started!” Aten said. “Bring them in!” Aneksi came back to the present, looking over at Hakem, who was sitting on the floor. He looked away from her towards the large group of men who began filling the great hall very quickly. Aten stood up, waiting for the noise to stop. He looked around at all the different men, having to admit to himself that he was very pleased at what he saw. He knew that many of them were second sons, but he had been a second son also. He was not looking for anything but strength. He needed a powerful new son for his kingdom to be safe and secure. “I welcome all of you that have come!” Aneksi looked around the hall at all the different faces. One of these men might end up being her husband. The very thought of that gave her the chills. She spotted the two men from the stables, very surprised to see one of them staring at her very boldly. “Before we have the feast, I have a test that each one of you must perform in order to be able to compete,” Aten said. A slight mummer went throughout the men. “I present to you Meryre. He has taught my daughters everything they know. To 29

this day, he is the only one who had beaten them. In order to proceed, you must beat him!” “Fuck!” Zafar murmured to Sabu. “I have to fight, just to stay with you.” “I think you will fight, just to get close to her,” Sabu said. “If you do not wish to fight him, then you should leave now,” Aten continued. About one third of the group started walking out, the rest stayed. “Great! Let the test begin!” Aten yelled as he took his seat.

Chapter 4
One by one, the men walked up to challenge Meryre in hand to hand combat for the honor to fight for one of the princesses’ hands. One by one they were dismissed. Not one of them, it seemed, had the strength that Pharaoh Aten demanded, needed and wanted. Aneksi walked over to stand Hakem. “He is here?” Hakem looked around the room, then back down on at his lap. “Yes.” “He was one from the stables?” “Yes.” “Will he fight?” Hakem looked up, watching Meryre bring another man down. “He will fight, but only to stay with his friend.” Aneksi lightly kicked Hakem. “You told me he was the best.” “The Gods are playing the game now.” Hakem stood up. “Already the spark of desire for you grows deep within him.” Aneksi looked at the tall blonde who walked up to Meryre. He picked up the rod that was lying on the ground never taking his eyes off of Meryre. “He is very strong,” Hakem said next to her. “His destiny is here. I see him having many sons.” Aneksi watched as Meryre swung hard at the man, trying to knock him down. The blonde only blocked the attack, not falling, nor did he even move at all from that 31

powerful hit. “He is good,” Aneksi said. “And he will be someone you can trust.” “The man is not to be trusted.” Aneksi walked back over to Aten as he motioned for her. “He has a strong arm and very a good eye,” Aten said. “He’s not bad,” Aneksi replied. “Ah, but Meryre hasn’t brought him down like the others.” “There is still time.” Aten laughed hitting the floor with his walking stick. The fighting stopped suddenly. “You, my boy, are in. What’s your name?” “Sabu, my Pharaoh.” “Take a seat, Sabu.” Sabu bowed low and walked over to one of the side tables that were filled with food. “Relax, drink and enjoy. Continue with the next one, Meryre!” Meryre turned towards the group of men waiting for the next one to approach him. Seeing that there was one who was able to pass the test, the others got bolder and started to step forward. Before long, the tables started to fill with eager young men that were boasting about all the things they could do. Even going as far as to tell how on their wedding night their new bride would be screaming. Aneksi leaned against a wall, watching the men make fools out of themselves. During this, she could feel eyes on her the whole time. When she looked across the room at the last two men who were waiting for their chance to fight, she met the heated eyes of the stranger from the stables. Her heart started to pound hard furiously. “Ah! Only two left,” Aten cried. “Who shall be the last to sit at my table?” Aneksi pushed herself off of the wall, walking directly in front of the two men, sizing both up. The stranger from the barn watched her as if he was the hunter and she was his prey. 32

Aten laughed loudly at his daughter bold move. “Both of you fight at once!” He yelled. “The one that is left standing shall have the seat.” Both men were thrown a rod and walked up towards Meryre. He smiled cruelly at them, making sure that they both knew he was going to bring them down hard. “Aneksi! You, too! It has been a long time since I have seen you fight against Meryre.” Aten gave her a sharp look. “I wish it.” Aneksi looked at her father, holding her hands out to her sides as the servants, along with Hakem, walked over to take her dress off. “Not with stick!” Aten yelled. “Bring the Sais.” Everyone in the great hall got quiet watching as the only heir to the kingdom was getting dressed for the fight that was going be held in the hall. They had heard about what a great fighter she was and how brutal Meryre was. Getting to see both of them fight at the same time would be a spectacular show, indeed. The last two men were both handed two Sais, as was Meryre. When the servants stepped away from Aneksi she was holding her Sais almost completely stripped naked. A white cotton cloth was caressing her as it wrapped around her breasts, knotted in the middle with another piece of cotton twisted around her hips ending up between her legs. Aneksi looked at Aten, who gave her a slight nod with his head. She walked up to Meryre, feeling those very same eyes caressing her entire her body. “Begin!” Aten said. Aneksi kicked the one man that was standing there, waiting to see what was going to happen. Meryre advanced towards her as the other stranger went after Meryre. Metal against metal could be heard as the sound echoed through the hall. All the talking in the hall was ceased as the fighting began in earnest. Aneksi did not have any trouble bringing down the man she was fighting. She showed him no mercy, stabbing him deeply in the leg with her Sais. She watched as the one who had eyed her fell over a rod that was lying on the ground. Meryre was walking towards him. Aneksi yanked hard on her Sais, pulling them out of the leg very hard which caused the man to scream in pain, making Meryre turn his head to look at her. 33

That was just the distraction that the man needed to get away from under Meryre’s mercy. “You were always one, to get off by a scream,” Aneksi said to Meryre. Meryre stood up straight, glaring hard at Aneksi. “Your screams were music to my ears.” “Too bad you’ll never get that satisfaction.” “Oh, but I will.” Meryre stormed over to Aneksi. Before he was two feet in front of her, they started exchanging hits. He struck her with his left. She blocked with her right, then, with her left, she hit him with a punch. The power that the two had in their blows was enough to cause sparks to fly. Meryre kicked Aneksi’s feet out from underneath her. She went down to the ground hard, but rolled. “You are still a little weak there,” he growled at her. “Maybe the teacher was weak in his teaching,” she taunted him. Aten sat back in his throne watching with a smile on his face. He knew that having the men see what a great fighter his daughter was would weed out the weak. He wanted a strong son, since a strong son would be needed in order to control his daughter. His smile got even bigger when he saw the man walk over to the two that were exchanging the hard blows. Very quickly he used his own Sais to interrupt the two. “You should know better than to fight a girl,” the man said as he head butted Meryre so hard that he broke his nose, knocking him out cold. Aten clapped his hands as he stood up. He walked over to the man with a smile of pure delight on his face. He could feel it in his bones that this was the one who would someday sit upon his throne. “I want to congratulate you. No man has ever been able to bring him down before,” Aten said. Aneksi was breathing hard, watching her father. She saw the pure delight in his eyes. It disgusted her so much that she thought she was going to throw up. “What is your name?” Aten asked. The man looked at Aneksi again. “Zafar.” 34

“Well, welcome Zafar. Please, sit down. Eat.” Zafar was still looking at Aneksi as Aten led him to his own table for the feast that was about to begin. Aneksi felt her anger starting to boil. Her father didn’t even say if he was proud or disappointed at the way she fought. Her having Zafar look at her in such a way, it was just too much. She turned around throwing her Sais hard towards her father’s chair; both of them landed in the arms of the chair. Hakem stood where he was as Aneksi stormed out of the hall. He knew that she was heading towards the stables as she would be riding her horse long and hard tonight. When he looked over at Aten, he was not one bit surprised. The man barely noticed that his oldest daughter had left. The second her feet touched the ground, Aneksi started running towards the stables. Duanutef seemed as if he was able to hear her approaching. He whined, running towards the railing at a high speed as if to jump it. Zafar broke away from the group to watch Aneksi run towards her horse. He was very impressed with the way she swung up on the back of her horse, taking off without anything to control the beast. Aten came up beside him, placing his hand on his shoulder. “Do not concern yourself with her. She is angry and must vent it.” “She rides well.” “She should. I had her on a horse as soon as she could walk.” Zafar turned and leaned against the wall, facing Aten. “How is her skill with the blade?” Aten smiled. He saw what the man was trying very hard not to show his interest in his daughter. “She is just as strong.” “Yet you don’t praise her for her talents.” “Do you praise your men in battle?” Aten asked, crossing his arms over his chest. “When they do well, yes, I do.” Zafar walked off, leaving Aten to wonder about the man. ***** 35

“Have you felt it?” Hakem said to Aneksi the second she walked into her chamber. “Unless you have brought me dinner, leave.” Hakem stood up from his cushion on the floor and walked over to Aneksi. He started to remove her clothes as she walked over to a waiting bath. “He is very interested in you,” he went on. “Not now, Hakem.” “He is bold enough to let your father know it.” Aneksi grabbed a dagger and threw it towards Hakem, who only ducked. “I believe your aim is off.” “Maybe I was aiming for your damn head this time.” “Maybe, but I think not.” He brought over a platter of food as she sat down in her bath. “He does not see the warrior exterior, but the woman inside of you.” Aneksi sighed deeply. “Hakem, I’m getting very tired of your damn riddles.” “Perhaps.” He sat down behind her, starting to brush her hair. “He wants you. I’ve seen it.” “Men always want what they can’t have.” “But he will have you.” Aneksi looked over her shoulder at him. “What do you see?” “I told you already.” “Not all of it.” Hakem put the brush down and stood up, walking over to the bed. He started to pull the covers down, moving her snake as he went. “Hakem, please!” “If I tell you what I see, then you will try everything you can to not let it all happen.” “Will he fight?” Hakem picked up a drying cloth, walking back towards her. He held it out as he waited for her to step out of the bath. After he dried her off and slipped a simple dress 36

over her body, he took a good look at her. “Yes. He will fight for you.” “Will he win?” He pushed her over to the bed, tucking her in as she lay down. “He will win even before you two will fight.” ****** Zafar stood at the opening to his tent looking up at the palace, wondering if the one he wanted was back from her ride yet. “Her name is Aneksi,” Sabu said, walking towards the tent. “I never asked.” Zafar replied. “Ah, but you wondered.” Sabu smiled at him as he walked into the tent. “She stirs your blood. I’ve seen it.” Zafar turned around, facing Sabu. His friend was lounging on his bed, drinking the finest wine that he had. “What is wrong with your tent?” “Well, as of right now, there is no fine lady to join me.” “You are on a mission for a bride. No lady should be in your bed now.” “What am I, a monk?” Zafar took his bottle of wine from his friend’s hands. “Until you win or lose, yes you are.” He took a deep drink from the bottle as he looked hard at his friend. “Have you decided on which one of the princesses you will challenge?” “Not quite. The Pharaoh will introduce us to all his beautiful daughters in the morning.” “They don’t seem like the greeting type.” Zafar sat down in his only chair, putting his feet up on the table. Sabu looked hard at Zafar, and then he smiled. “You didn’t stay for me, you’re staying for her.” “Sabu, you head is as thick as the soles in my boots.” Sabu laughed. “I have seen how you were looking at her.” “So what! It doesn’t mean I want to wed the girl.” 37

“It doesn’t mean you want to run as far away from her as you can, either.” Sabu stood up. “She might be the one to mend that heart of yours.” “No one can fix the damage that is done.” “Night, my friend.” Sabu walked out of the tent almost knocking over Hakem who was waiting for him. “What’re you doing out here?” Sabu asked. Hakem looked at Sabu. “He is meant for my mistress. I wish only to look at him close up.” “Believe me, son; he is no mood for any kind of company.” “I understand. Please give him these.” Hakem handed a bag to Sabu. “Tell him to keep it with him at all times, as it will come in handy very soon.” Sabu watched the boy turn, walking away. “Was someone here?” Zafar asked, stepping out of his tent. “Yeah, he wanted you to have this.” Zafar looked into the bag and was confused along with being surprised at what was inside. A plain gold necklace with a boa charm attached to it. “He said to keep that with you, you would need it very soon.” “These are strange things to keep on hand,” Zafar said. ******* “He fell off his horse,” Ebonee said, down on her knees before Aten. “He broke his neck.” Aten sat on the floor, holding his oldest son’s limp body. Aneksi stood off to the side, watching. She was holding Bebi’s little hand as Hetepi cried. “What was he doing riding alone?!” Aten yelled. Ebonee placed her head on the floor. “He commanded it.” “Where was that excuse of a mother of his?” Meryre barged in with Hetepi’s mother. She looked as if she had been crying and looked as if she has been slapped around. 38

“My king,” Meryre said. “I found her in the company of one of my men.” Aten glared at her with so much hate in his eyes that Aneksi cringed. She knew what was going to happen. She picked Bebi up to cover her face. Aten grabbed the sword that Meryre had on his waist, driving it through his second wife, killing her instantly. Aneksi sat straight up in bed with sweat running down her face and body. Another memory from her past, another really bad heartbreak she must endure. She remembered that day like it was yesterday. Her brother died, as did his mother that day. With her not even cold in her tomb, Aten went out and married another. Aneksi slipped out of her bed, going to watch the sun rise. She saw the tents off in the distance and heard the men starting their day. Today was the day that all four of them were to show off their talents. Then the men would have an idea of who they wanted to try for. She took a deep breath, wrapping her mother’s shawl around her arms. Her beloved pet wrapped itself around her ankles as the gold rays of light started to break the night. “You will never be lost to me, Aneksi. I am always in your heart.”
Chapter 5
Aneksi was placing the bit in her horse’s mouth when Aten very angrily stomped up to her. He grabbed her roughly by her arm, turning her around to face him. “You have a show to put on for the men,” he said into her face. Aneksi yanked her arm from her father’s grip. “They’ve seen me fight. Besides, I need to ride him before he bites the other horses.” 39

Aten looked Aneksi up and down. He could tell by her homemade leather pants and matching leather top she was going hunting. “If you are going hunting, you should at least take some of the guests.” “Some are already hunting. I’m not going hunting.” “You’re dressed for it.” “I am not hunting for food.” Aneksi went back to her horse, swinging herself up on his back. “A mother tiger was killed last night by one of those men, along with a cub. I’m going to find the other cub. I’ll be back in time to watch Tia’s first fight.” “See that you do. Or I will whip you good.” Aneksi kicked her horse into a run, kicking up dust in Aten’s face. By the time all the sand had settled down, Hakem was standing next to Aten. Aten almost screamed with fright when he saw the boy. “One day, boy, your quiet feet will get you killed.” “Yes, my Pharaoh,” Hakem said, bowing. Aten looked at the boy, and still to this day he couldn’t understand why in the world his oldest daughter would protect him like she did. “Was there something you wanted?” Aten demanded. “Some of the guest would like for you to lead them on a hunt, my King.” “They don’t want a show?” Hakem was still looking down at the ground. “Most think that they can beat the Princesses, without any trouble.” Aten laughed. “Well, then when the first one falls, it will be a grand treat.” Hakem looked up at Aten. “The first one to fight will not fall. He will claim.” ****** Aneksi tied Duanutef to a tree starting to track the lost cub. She could tell by the paw prints that it was very young, and newly weaned from its mother. Still, the cub couldn’t hunt yet. It had no mother to teach it how. She came upon the cave that the animals used to live in. Aneksi saw nothing, not even a print was to be found near the cave. She walked around, looking up on the hill, 40

under limbs, but still nothing. She was about to give up and move to another location, when she heard the laughter of men. Aneksi walked over to the top of hill, peeking over it to see her father leading a small group of men on a hunt. “Hello.” A man said in her ear. Aneksi turned quickly with one of her Sais in her hand, but the man was faster. He grabbed both of her wrists, turning her back towards the hill, pressing his hard body into hers. He put just enough pressure on her wrist to force her to drop her weapon. “I’ll give you credit. You’re fast,” he said in her ear. “But then most men would not be expecting it.” He kicked her ankles out, pressing his hips into her ass, letting her get a good feel of the erection that was rising very fast. “I was.” “Let me go,” Aneksi said, with her face pressed in the dirt. Just as quickly, again he pulled her back by her wrist, turned her around, picking her up from the ground, pinning her back on the hill facing him. He positioned himself between her legs, holding her with her own wrist and his legs. “You are definitely more beautiful up close.” He moved one of her wrists so he could hold them both with one hand as he began to start to brush the dirt from her face. “Do you remember who I am?” “Zafar,” she gritted out. Zafar smiled. “You know, I wasn’t going to fight when I got here. I wanted to stay, to watch my friend as he competed for one of your sisters.” His hand moved down to her leather top, and the leather thong that was weaved in and out to hold it closed. “But now that I am this close to you, I think I might have to enter it after all.” Zafar looked at her as he pulled on the knot. He watched her breasts rise with each breath she took as he pulled the top apart. He took her other Sais, stabbing it in the dirt above her head. He pulled the thong off, wrapping it around her wrists, attaching it to her Sais. “What do you think you’re doing?” Aneksi asked, trying to pull her wrists free. “What do you think I’m doing?” He pulled her vest apart, looking his fill at her breasts. “Perfection.” 41

“Stop this!” Zafar looked her deep in the eyes. He read all that he needed to know. He leaned down to lick her nipple. He went to the other one, sucking it into his mouth. Aneksi sucked in her breath. She had seen Aten and other men do the same thing to women, but did not have a clue that it could feel so good. Zafar sucked, nibbled and licked at her breasts until both were aching and sensitive. He licked the valley between her breasts all the way up to her neck, where he had pulled her hair back. “I’m going to give you your first taste of real pleasure.” Zafar kissed her deep, pushing his tongue past her teeth, to taste the sweetness of her innocence. As he kissed her, his hand traveled down her breast to her belly to enter the inside of her pants. He found her mound shaved, as was the ways of some maidens. He encountered the wetness of her desire. Zafar groaned when she started to kiss him back, mating her tongue with his, grinding her hips to his hand. He pushed a finger inside her heat, losing control of himself, soaking his pants with his cum at the tight heat he felt from her. He broke the kiss as he trailed his lips down to her breasts, pulling her pants down her sexy, slender legs as he went. He pushed her legs even further apart, kissing her thighs, the back of her knees, and all the way down to her ankles. “So soft,” he murmured against her leg. Zafar saw her wetness shining in the sun on her pussy, giving it one long lick. Her taste was a drug to him. Zafar needed more of her as he became addicted to her taste. He licked and lapped at her fast, devouring all of her juices like a starving man. He found her clit, circled it with the tip of his tongue as his hands slid up her legs. His thumbs parted her lips as he pushed his tongue deep inside her hole, fucking her with his tongue. Aneksi was lost in the new feelings that were running through her body. She moved her hips with his tongue, moaning her pleasure. Zafar push two fingers deep inside, stretching her tight flesh, taking her over to paradise. Her cry of release was sweet torture to him. Her cunt gripped his fingers like a tight fist as she climaxed. 42

Zafar stood up, but kept his fingers deep inside of her, fucking her in a slow motion. He kissed her belly, the undersides of both breasts, then he kissed her one more time deeply, letting her taste her sweetness on his lips. “You drenched my hand with your release,” he said against her lips. Aneksi opened her mouth as another wave of ecstasy started to hit her. Zafar kissed her to muffle the sounds as she came again. When she was coming down from her high, he pulled the Sais out of the ground and pulled his painful, throbbing cock out of his pants. Aneksi looked down as he rubbed his wet hand over his dick. He was so hard that the head was purple. She could feel the heat as he rubbed it along her mound. For a split second, Aneksi thought about going to her knees, taking him into her mouth. But she heard the sound of horses. The riders were heading back with whatever kill they might have made. “Kiss me,” Zafar said. “Let me think of what it would be like to be deep in that hot body of yours as my pleasure spills out.” Aneksi untwisted her wrists, placing them around Zafar’s neck. She kissed him like he kissed her with all her might, enthusiastically pushing her tongue inside his mouth. She felt his hand as it moved over his cock between their bodies, thinking of what it would be like to be taken by a man. To be a woman for a change, not a warrior, was what she wanted to be right now. Zafar grunted as he spilled himself on the ground. He looked at Aneksi as she backed away from him, dressing. He knew that what he just did could get his throat slit if she told. Something in his gut told him that she wouldn’t. He fixed his clothes, was about to say something when he heard a faint growl. Down at his feet was a white and black baby cub. Zafar bent down, picking the animal up. “You must be the one that got away,” he said, rubbing the cub on the top of his head. “And the one she is looking for.” “You found him!” 43

“More like it is her, not him.” Zafar handed the cub to Aneksi. He damned his body as it started to get hard again, just looking at her. Aneksi looked at Zafar. “I need to get back.” “I bet you do.” He watched her go, wondering why he didn’t kiss her one more time. He had a strong feeling that from now on, she was going to do whatever she could to stay away from him. ****** Zafar walked into the great hall with Sabu. Both had bathed, dressed in plain leather pants with leather boots. Neither wore a shirt but wore matching vests. They found a low table that was not full yet. Pillows were lined everywhere for the guests to lounge and feast. Tonight was going to be the first competition, and if lucky, this would be his wedding feast. Aten walked into the great hall dressed in some of the finest Pharaoh clothes. Three of his daughters walked in behind, all dressed in plain white strapless dresses that reached their feet, no sandals, a headband, and one large golden clip that was pinned in the middle of their breasts. Zafar noticed Aneksi right away. He watched her walk over to her father’s left to sit down on a stool with the same boy that always was by her side sitting at her feet. She had the look that spoke of nothing happening, but Zafar did notice that she didn’t seem so stressed out. He smiled as he took a drink of his wine. Sabu noticed the smile. “What’s up?” Sabu asked. “Nothing.” Zafar placed his cup back on the table and kept watching Aneksi. “Something’s going on.” “Yes. I believe that you are going to compete.” Pharaoh’s youngest daughter walked into the great hall. She was dressed in hardly anything, ready to fight. She had a gold piece of cloth that crisscrossed across her breasts and was held together on the side with golden rings. A matching golden loincloth covered her treasure from sight. She was holding a long spear. A mask was on the top 44

half of her head to cover and to protect her face from scars. The room got quiet as Aten stood up. “Today we will start the competition.” The men cheered. “Tia, my youngest daughter, will be the first to fight. Any man who can bring her down will have her hand in marriage. The feast we have tonight shall be either a feast of joining or a feast for the loser. Her hand will bring you a title, land, and a lot of gold. So I ask you now. Who is man enough to take on my daughter in combat?” The men in the hall started to look at each other. None, it seemed, wanted to fight Tia. Aneksi was about to get up and walk away, when she caught Zafar’s eye. Just a look from him was enough to get her blood stirring. All of a sudden she could feel his hands on her body, could taste his kisses, and smell his masculine scent. “Is there no one here brave enough to fight?” Aten said. Aneksi watched as the man sitting next to Zafar stood up. He was the blonde that rode in with him. “I’ll fight her,” he said. “Ah! Finally, someone who may be worthy enough to fight my daughter!” Aten cried. “Come. Your staff awaits you.” The blonde walked up, taking his staff as he headed towards Tia. She pulled her mask down over her face and took up her fighting stance. The second his foot touched the circle, she went on attack. He blocked her, taking a swipe to knock her down. Tia only jumped back, hitting him on the back with her fist. He rolled away from her, coming back up on his feet. “Guess I shouldn’t take it easy on you after all,” he said to her. “Only if you want me to kick your ass harder,” Tia said, twirling her staff over her head. “Ok. I can play your game.” Hakem pulled on Aneksi’s arm to get her to stoop down for him to speak. “This will be over very soon.” Aneksi looked at her sister then she quickly she looked over at Zafar. He was still 45

leaning back looking like a man who was waiting for the fight to get over quickly. “And he knows it,” Aneksi said. “Yes. His friend knows what will happen,” Hakem replied. Tia cried out as the blonde whacked her on the back of the legs with his staff. He knocked her down, placing his foot on her throat with the spear of his staff at her forehead. “I believe you are mine now,” he said, smiling. Aten stood up clapping his hands. “Bravo! Bravo, my son! You are the first man to ever beat Tia.” Aten walked down, holding his arms open. Aneksi walked down with him, helping Tia to her feet. “Tonight we celebrate a wedding!” ****** “Please don’t let him be the one up there, Aneksi,” Tia said as she was being prepared for her new husband. “I don’t want him to see.” Aneksi kissed her on the forehead. “I have already taken care of it.” Tia sighed with relief. “Thanks.” Aneksi smiled at her baby sister. “He is a good man.” “Yes, he is.” Tia smiled. “I was hoping since the first time I saw him that he would strong enough to beat me.” Aneksi smile faded. She pushed some of Tia’s hair from her face. “You want and deserve to be happy.” “So do you.” Aneksi hugged Tia turning to walk out of the room. Hakem was waiting for her, as always. “She’ll be fine,” he said. “Yes. I know. She’s happy.” Aneksi started walking towards the adjoining room. She had to watch her sister and her new brother join for the first time. It was something she did not want to do, but was something that needed to be done. Hakem took her arm as she touched the door. “He is to witness it, also.” 46

As Hakem opened the door for Aneksi, her gut did a sudden jump. Zafar was in the room waiting. “Your father ordered that he is to be a witness also.” Hakem closed the door, not letting Aneksi see the smile on his face. “Why are you here?” Aneksi asked Zafar. “To make sure everything goes smoothly.” Just hearing his voice was like soft fingers caressing her skin. “I think they will go smoothly without you being here.” Zafar smiled at her. “Maybe I wanted to be alone with you again.” “Maybe I should tell my father what you did?” She walked over to the hidden screen, removing it. “Now, if you did that, he might force you marry to me,” he said behind her. He wrapped his arms around her waist. “I will admit, though, there is nothing I want more than to be inside you right this very minute.” She felt his hardness against her ass as he pulled her tighter in his embrace. “That won’t happen.” Zafar kissed the back of her neck as his hands started to roam over her body, cupping her breasts. “It will sooner than you think.” Sabu walked into the bedchamber just then. Aneksi tried to remove Zafar’s hands from her body, but he only tightened his hold on her breasts. She watched Sabu walk up to her sister without saying a word and began kissing her deeply. “He will be kind, but won’t give her a chance to get scared,” Zafar said in her ear. He started to rotate his hips, grinding his cock against her ass. “Watch as he undresses her quickly, then brings her into his arms.” Zafar pulled the claps on her dress, letting the material fall to the floor. Aneksi was watching the scene unfold in front of her as Zafar touched her body at will. She closed her eyes as his hands squeezed her nipples, moving down to her stomach. “Watch them,” he demanded in her ear. “He has her wanting him already.” 47

Sabu, still kissing Tia, picked her up, carrying her with her legs wrapped around him to the bed. He laid them both down, pulling his pants down as he went. Zafar touched Aneksi's pussy the same moment that Sabu touched Tia between her legs. Both girls moaned at the same time. “Stop this,” Aneksi moaned as he flicked her clit with his thumb. “Why?” “It isn’t right. Only my husband can touch me like this.” Zafar pushed two fingers deep inside her heat. “Who’s to say that man won’t be me?” He started a slow in and out motion with his hand. “You won’t beat me.” Aneksi watched Sabu positioned himself better between her sister’s legs. She saw that he was starting to push inside of her, seeing the look of pure shock and pleasure on Tia’s face. When he moved her hips suddenly hard, he kissed her the same time. “Let’s see about that, shall we?” Zafar said. He removed his hand from her body and just walked about. Aneksi pulled her dress back up and turned around to glare at him. He was at the door before he turned back and looked at her. “Let’s have our own fight,” Zafar said. “For what?” He smiled at her. “If I win, you must suck me.” “And if I win, you have to stay the hell away from me.” He walked back towards her, pulling her roughly back into his arms. He pulled on her hair, and then kissed her hard and long. “I won’t lose.”

Chapter 6
Aneksi was kneeling in front of Isis deep in thought. Hakem watched her from the doorway, knowing what things were troubling her. He always did. He looked at her bare back, and the scars that lined it. The one she got for him. “If you don’t do your work, boy, I won’t feed you!” the merchant yelled. “Let me die!” “I won’t let you die. One way or another, your fine face will make me money.” “Leave him alone!” Hakem looked up at a young girl. She was the prettiest thing he had ever seen, thinking that she must be a Goddess that had come to take him home at last. Her hand on his hot face was a comfort he would never forget. “He’s sick,” she said. “Men do not care if he is sick or not. Just as long as he can wash their boots and suck their cocks.” “Don’t let him do that to me. I won’t be able to see again.” Aneksi looked at the young boy. She saw so much pain in his eyes, along with loneliness. “How much you want for him?” The man laughed at her. “All he is good for, girl, is to suck cocks.” Aneksi stood up, glaring at the man. “If you don’t want to make a profit, then lose one; he is coming with me.” 49

She started to pick him up when all of a sudden the man cracked his whip, slicing her back wide open. Aneksi cried out in pain as she fell to the ground. Hakem was in shock at what his master had done. “She wears the mark of the royal family,” Hakem said. Aneksi pulled her Sais out from her hip. Using the boy’s help she stood up on her own feet. With all of her might she threw her weapon at the man's chest, killing him. Meryre stood to the side, watching the scene, doing absolutely nothing to help her. When the man slumped down to the ground, he walked over to Aneksi. “Never turn your back on an enemy.” He slung her over his shoulder. “Come on, boy!” “She’s praying again.” Tia walked up to Hakem. “What troubles her so much?” “She is upset over the passing of the tests.” Hakem continued his watching of Aneksi. He could feel her pain as if it was his own. “I’ve never asked you for anything, Hakem. But tell me something, please.” Hakem looked at Tia and smiled. “Anything you want to know.” “Will she find the one to make her complete?” Hakem touched her cheek looking back at Aneksi. “She already has.” Tia looked at him, quizzing. "Who would that be?" she asked, trying to think of who would be able to make Aneksi complete. She came up blank, looking to Hakem waiting for his answer. Hakem smiled at her secretively. "You will find out. It is best to leave them to fate." Aneksi stood up, smoothed her skirt out and straightened the knots on her top. She walked out of the temple and stopped in front of Hakem. She saw in his eyes what he was trying to hide from her. She placed her hand on his face and Hakem leaned into the touch with eyes closed. “Please, stop thinking of that day,” she told him. Aneksi then looked at Tia. “You are good this day?” Tia smiled. “Very good.” 50

“I’m glad you found someone that will make you happy.” Aneksi started to walk towards the fighting arena. Tia and Hakem followed. “I want to thank you again, Aneksi.” Aneksi stopped suddenly and hugged Tia. “Never thank me for protecting you. I will always be there for you.” She let go of her and walked into the fighting arena. Tia just stood there, stunned. Hakem walked calmly into the arena. He walked over to sit next to Sabu to watch the private fighting that was to take place. Tia came also and sat down next to Sabu. “What are they fighting for?” Tia asked. Sabu smiled. “He wouldn’t tell me.” “Hakem, you know,” Tia said. “Yes I do. But I won’t tell.” “How does he know?” Sabu asked Tia. “I see things,” Hakem replied. “I see things my mistress doesn’t even know, as well as the future.” Zafar walked into the arena. He was carrying two staffs like the ones that Sabu used when he fought Tia. Zafar threw one at Aneksi, who caught it. “If I pin you down, I win,” Zafar said. “If you knock me down you win.” Aneksi smiled at him. “Let’s begin.” Zafar looked her up and down, and nodded his head. Both circled each other, waiting for the other to make the first move. Aneksi was a very patient, calm person, but for some reason the calm person within her just wasn’t here anymore. It seemed that every time Zafar was around, she wasn’t thinking like the warrior she was. She attacked first, striking with her left as he blocked with his right. She turned around, trying to knock him off of his feet. He only jumped out of the way. Zafar went after her, twirling his staff over his head and coming down hard on hers. It took everything she had to block that blow. He was so strong that she ended up kneeling on the ground, grunting from the force of the blow. “This is just a taste of what I can do, Aneksi,” Zafar said. 51

Aneksi kicked out, hitting him on the thigh hard. She rolled away from him, coming back to her feet and breathing hard. “They are toying with each other,” Hakem said. He looked at the gates, then at Tia. “Bebi comes. She mustn’t know about this.” “I think you’re right.” Tia got up and rushed over to the gate, meeting Bebi. “Now that she isn’t here, what aren’t you telling?” Sabu asked. Hakem stood up. “Sometimes if you look hard enough, destiny will tell you all,” He looked a Sabu. “Have him meet me at the south entrance.” Sabu watched the boy walk away. He was wondering more and more about the boy and what he said, until he looked back, seeing Zafar knock Aneksi down. This time he was dragging her towards him by her legs. Zafar sat on Aneksi, pinning her arms and breathing hard. “I win!” Aneksi just stared at him. Never had another man beside Meryre ever beat her, yet when she was around Zafar she couldn’t seem to think straight. Hakem walked up to them. Zafar stood up, extending his hand to Aneksi. She didn’t take it. “Bebi is here,” Hakem said. Aneksi stood up and walked over to the gates while Hakem looked at Zafar. “Make sure you are washed before you come tonight.” “What?” “The Pharaoh will be indisposed tonight when you come to her chamber this time.” “This time?” Zafar crossed his arms over his chest. “What are you talking about?” Hakem smiled. “I know what is to happen, and what will happen.” Zafar watched the boy walked away as Sabu walked up to him. “That is one really strange kid.” “He told me to tell you the south entrance,” Sabu said. “What’s going on?” Zafar smiled at Sabu. “I wagered a bet, and won. Tonight I collect.” Sabu looked at his best friend as if he lost his mind. “You’re not going to…” 52

“No!” Zafar started to walk out of the rink, “But that will come much later.” “You are going to get your balls cut off for fucking with a princess,” Sabu said to him as he followed his friend out. ****** Zafar followed Hakem down a dark hallway. It was right after the feast when he went back to his tent to wash up. He met Hakem at the south entrance. Hakem told him that he was going to have to bathe again. He did not want his mistress to have to touch a dirty man. How in the name of the Gods this boy knew what was going to happen was something he just didn’t understand. Hakem opened a set of double doors, letting Zafar walk in.
He was very
impressed with the size of the chamber. A bed, many trunks, a writing desk, furs, lamps and even animals that he thought should never be in a ladies chamber, were present. He saw the baby cub curled up on a pillow with a very large snake lying on a lounger. Hakem shut and locked the door, motioning for Zafar to follow him towards another set of doors. Hakem opened them to reveal a built in pool which served as a bathing chamber. Five large oil lamps hung from the ceiling along with incense burning to relax the mind. Zafar stripped, stepping into the warm pool. He washed his body with the finest soaps he had ever seen as he relaxed with all the wonderful smells that permeated the room. He heard Aneksi before he saw her. Zafar stepped out of the water, wrapping a towel around his hips as he walked back into the main chamber. He noticed that Hakem was sitting on the floor, facing the door with the cub in his lap. Zafar noticed that he was crafting something out of gold. Aneksi was standing next to her pet snake. She wore a silver sleeveless gown that Zafar could see right through. He swallowed hard, thinking to himself that this was going to be a rough night for him. The outline of her body was pure, sweet torture for him. “You are the first one to ever beat me,” she said. He took a few more steps closer to her. “You didn’t seem to be trying that hard.” “I didn’t think you could fight that well.” 53

“This might end up being harder for me than what I thought.” He was breathing hard now, trying to fight for some kind of control. “You are also the first man that I have allowed to touch me.” Aneksi could tell that he was having a very hard time. She watched many men over her times, and knew what was going on with Zafar. He wanted her very badly. “Why don’t you sit on the bed?” “Is he staying?” Aneksi looked over at Hakem. “Yes. He will let me know if anyone shows.” “Look, maybe this wasn’t the best idea I have ever had.” Aneksi smiled at him as she pushed him down on the edge of the bed. “Backing out?” She stood between his legs touching his face lightly. “If so, then you have to stay away from me.” He touched her legs caressing his way up to her bare ass under her gown. “I don’t know if I can stay away from you now.” She pushed him back so he was lying down. She went down on her knees pulling the cloth from his hips. “After tonight, you must.” Aneksi ran her hands over his muscular chest, scraping his nipples with her nails. Zafar’s head went back with a groan at the sweat torture she was giving him. He'd had many women in the past, even an innocent one like Aneksi, but he never had anyone touch him the way she was doing so now. He sucked in his breath as she kissed him lightly on the belly, traveling lower. Her hands were light as a feather on his legs as her lips moved to the inside of his thigh. His hands gripped the soft fur of the bed tightly when her tongue ever so lightly touched the head of his cock. “I fear you might send me to Anubis,” Zafar breathed out. Aneksi rubbed her hands over his painfully hard cock. She was mesmerized by the softness as well as the hardness of it. As she stroked him slowly she was watching his face as she went. It was then it hit her, that a woman like her could hold so much power over a man in an act as simple as this. 54

She closed her lips around the head of his cock, sucking it into her mouth. Zafar groaned loudly, closing his eyes as he felt every glorious sensation pour through his body. His brother had told him long ago if he found the one that was meant to be his, he would feel exquisite pleasure. This was that pleasure he felt cursing through his body. Aneksi let the head of the cock touch the back of her throat as she took all of him into her mouth as her teeth scraped his flesh. Over and over again, slowly she took him deep into her mouth, withdrawing just as slowly. Zafar was panting and lightly bucking his hips, along with moaning. Aneksi cupped his balls, then put enough pressure to control his release and to extend this torture. “By all the Gods!” Zafar moaned. Aneksi started to lose control herself. She found she loved his smell, taste, and the power she held over him. If she could, she would give him everything she had. But she couldn’t do that. The man who would beat her would be the one who would get the one treasure she had to give. Faster she started sucking him, pulling him over to the strong release which was building in his balls. Her middle finger started to caress his ass as she sucked his cock with all her might. His balls got heavier and heavier as he got closer, yet Aneksi wanted more from him. She started to moan herself, letting the vibrations from her throat touch him. “I…Can’t...Hold.” His cock started to swell as his release approached. Just before he came hard inside her mouth, Aneksi pushed her finger into his ass, intensifying his pleasure. Zafar cried out. Stars shot behind his eyelids as he came, and came hard. He held onto the furs tightly, knuckles turning white as his pleasure kept erupting. Aneksi took it all, drinking every drop he had, still sucking more from him. Only when his body relaxed completely did she release him. She kissed his stomach, back up to his chest, then kissed him lightly on the lips. “Good-bye.” Aneksi kissed him one more time, walking away from Zafar. “When the one who is supposed to love you comes, nothing will come first in your 55

life again,” Kakra said as she brushed Aneksi’s hair. “He will fill your every waking moment. When the time comes for you two to touch, no other’s hand will ever do.” Kakra started to sing as she brushed her daughter’s hair. The new snake was wrapped around Aneksi's legs as a light breeze was blowing into the chamber. “Never give your heart to just anyone, my daughter. Make sure he is the one who will cherish you for all time. Love is always out there. It is there waiting for you to grab it and to hold it tight. Listen to what Isis always tells you. She will guide you right.” Aneksi was sitting on the floor watching the waves of the Nile hit the steps. Sheba, her new cub, sat on her lap sleeping as Aneksi ran her hand through her fur gently. Hakem knew just by looking at her that she was troubled again. He picked up her brush, standing behind her to brush her hair like her mother used to do when she was young. “Don’t fight destiny. It’s a battle you will lose,” he said. Aneksi didn’t say a word. In the last twenty-four hours she felt so different. She was not the strong warrior that her father made her, but the lonely woman that was once her mother. ****** Zafar stood at the entrance to his tent, drinking wine as he looked up at the palace. His body was still aching for her. But there wasn’t a damn thing he could do about it. He knew what he was doing was wrong. He could get his head cut off if he was found out, yet he just couldn’t stop. He wanted more of her. He needed more. He was very happy that his friend found what he was looking for. Sabu deserved to have a fine wife. Zafar never thought that he would find the one woman for him to be complete with. He sighed deeply, finishing his wine and going back into his tent. Tonight he would be getting little or no sleep.

Chapter 7
Zafar walked toward the fighting arena with more on his mind than what he would have liked. As much as he tried, he could not get what happened last night out of his mind. He could still feel her heated mouth wrapped around his cock, the wetness of her tongue licking him. He could even still feel the scraping of her teeth against him. “You look like hell,” Sabu said, meeting him at the gate. “Thanks.” 57

“Did you sleep at all?” “Have a lot on my mind.” Sabu and Zafar walked into the arena, heading towards Tia, who was sitting next to Hakem. Zafar knew that if Hakem was here, so was Aneksi. He worked on how he looked as he sat down, being very careful to show nothing on his face. Hakem wasn’t fooled. He looked at Zafar and smiled. “Hum, something kept you awake last night?” Zafar looked at the boy. “I had lots on my mind.” “Pity.” Zafar looked back at the ring, very surprised when he saw Aneksi out there fighting against one very large man. They were exchanged powerful blows with the Sais, along with precise foot work. Zafar had to admit that she could handle herself very well. It was a wonder why she had let him touch her the way he had. “There is more to the two of you than you think,” Hakem said in his ear, just before he started to walk down towards Aneksi. “Don’t you think its time you told me what’s going on?” Sabu asked. “I’m not sure even I know.” “If you’re not careful, Aten will see.” Tia said, “Even I can start to see it.” Zafar looked at Tia. Instead of seeing an angry sister, Tia was smiling at him. “She has taken care of me ever since Aten killed his second wife.” “Why did he do that?” Sabu asked. “I was very young, but I remembered that my brother fell off his horse. He broke his neck. They found my mother with one of the guards, when she was supposed to be watching him. That day, Bebi’s mother was the high Queen.” “What happened to Aneksi’s mother?” Zafar asked, watching as Aneksi took a hard blow but didn’t back down. “She was sick. She died when Aneksi was only ten, I believe. It was the night Aten’s second wife gave birth to his son.” “What about your mother?” Sabu asked. 58

“My mother, Aten’s last wife, died trying to give him another son. My brother died days after she did.” “Bebi!” Meryre yelled. “Come and practice.” Zafar’s attention was drawn again to Aneksi. She was talking to Hakem. Hakem was giving her water to drink and washing her heated body down. Zafar wanted to be the one to do that task. In fact, he wanted to wash every inch of her sweaty body with his tongue. “She’s fighting harder than I have seen in a long time,” Tia said, “And this will not be a good fight.” “Why’d you say that?” Zafar asked. “Call it bad blood between them.” Zafar watched as Aneksi twirled her weapons in her hands, tucking them under her wrists as she walked around her sister. Both were trying to intimidate the other. Bebi was the one to attack. She lunged at Aneksi with a full swing of her Sais. Aneksi blocked it, hitting Bebi in the face with her closed fist. Bebi took two steps back from the blow, coming back stronger. Aneksi moved her body as she blocked the blows her sister was doling out. She was making sure to get in a few of her own hits as well. Zafar sat up, watching with interest as Aneksi would bend backwards to avoid a hit from Bebi. She would then jump back from a sudden kick from Aneksi. Right blows met with left blocks, as high swings would be ducked under. It seemed that both were evenly matched. Zafar studied her like any warrior that he would fight, especially if he wanted to beat his opponent. “Meryre is pushing them too far,” Tia said. “Aneksi looks as if she is going to drop.” Zafar stood up and walked over to Hakem. Neither of the men looked at the other, just watched Aneksi as she fought her sister. “What do you know that you’re not telling?” Zafar asked. “You are slowly chipping away at her. It’s something she needs badly. After all this time she is starting to feel like a woman and not a warrior.” Hakem looked at Zafar. 59

“She is feeling again.” “I’ve been with many women before in my time, but something is happening lately that I know nothing about.” Hakem knotted his brow. “You two will have to compete with each other.” Zafar watched as the boy walked over to a large bucket and filled it with water. By the time Meryre called it quits for the girls, Aneksi looked as if she would drop where she stood. She walked over to Hakem, standing still while he poured the water over her heated body. The moment she looked over at Zafar, the sparks started again. He had to fight to stay put while she had to fight to let nothing show on her face. “Come,” Hakem said. “You need to rest.” Aneksi was laying on one of her sofas as a servant rubbed her sore muscles. Her thoughts kept going back to last night, and how she wanted more. “The time will come for more,” Hakem said. “What makes you think I was thinking of that?” Hakem motioned for the servant to leave. Only when the doors were closed and he knew for sure that they were alone did he speak again. “Do you wish for me to send for him again?” Aneksi snorted as she sat up, “Is the bath hot?” “Hot and waiting for you.” Aneksi walked in the nude to her hot bath. She sank into the water with a deep sigh as it finished the job of loosening up her muscles. Hakem walked in with a tray of fruit and some wine. “Emotions are something you have long forgotten.” Aneksi took a deep drink of her wine before she looked at Hakem. “If you’re trying to tell me I have a heart, then don’t. Aten killed that just like he has killed everything else.” “He may still surprise you.” “Will Bebi lose?” Hakem walked towards the bed, turning it down and moving her snake back to the 60

lounge chair. “You all will lose.” ***** “If you want her, then challenge for her,” Sabu said to Zafar “She’ll be the last to fight,” Tia said, sitting next to Sabu. Zafar looked at both of them as he drank a cup of beer, saying nothing. “But can he beat her?” Sabu asked Tia. Tia looked hard at Zafar before she answered. “I think he can.” “But both of you forget to ask me that the big question. Do I really want to fight for her?” “Yes you do,” Hakem said from the doorway. “And yes you want her.” “Always so quiet, Hakem,” Tia said “It’s not a bad thing to want a strong woman,” Hakem said, walking into the room. “She is very lonely, also. No one is allowed into her heart, not even me. She feels life with you but doesn’t know how to reach it.” Zafar just looked at the boy. He couldn’t find words, knowing that this boy was right. “Your destiny is here,” Hakem went on. “I have seen you sit on the throne of Egypt, with Aneksi as your Queen. I have seen your son, seen the glory that will become of this land. But if you don’t take this chance, for once in your life, then all will be lost. No other woman will ever quench your thirst, now that she has given you the water. Take what the Gods have given you.” Zafar put his cup down on a table and walked out of the room. Hakem smiled as the door closed, knowing that the storm that was approaching would seal their fate. Zafar headed towards Aneksi's chambers. Why he did this he couldn’t say. All he knew was that he needed to see her, be with her, and even touch her. Hakem was right, she was in his blood. He entered her chamber quietly. He spotted her standing next to an opened window, looking out toward the Nile with the wind blowing gently on her. She was only wrapped in an old shawl that was not covering much of her body. When she turned to 61

look at him, their eyes met. Zafar could feel the heat between them. “What are you doing here?” He slid the bolt in place. He started to walk towards her, taking his own clothing off as he did. By the time he was standing next to her, all his clothes were gone with his cock very hard. Aneksi dropped her shawl to the ground, going to her knees in front of him. Greedily, she took his cock deep into her mouth, sucking him hard. Zafar’s head went back on a groan as his hips moved on their own. He came quickly as she sucked. She drank everything he had to give her like a hungry child. Zafar pulled her up on her feet, kissing her deeply. As he pushed his tongue inside her mouth, he picked her up off of her feet, walking over to her bed. She wrapped her legs and arms around him, kissing him back with as much hunger as he had for her. He laid her down, kissing his way to her dripping wet cunt. She smelled so sweet that he feared he wouldn’t be able to control himself. “I won’t take your virginity, but I have to have something more tonight. Something to get me through the days without you,” he said against her leg. “Take what you want,” she whispered. Zafar licked her several times like a cat did for milk. He turned her over to her stomach very gently as he started kissing her backside. He crawled onto her back, rubbing his cock over her pussy lips. He groaned at the heat and wetness he felt, wishing he could push his cock deep inside of her. When his cock was dripping wet from her juices he parted her cheeks, positioning the head at the entrance to her ass. This was the only way he was going to get the chance of being inside of her without messing up her life. “Just relax.” Zafar start to push his way in, biting his lip as he did so. She was so tight he wasn’t sure if this was a good idea or not, but the second her ring gave in he was home free. He moved his hand around to play with her pussy as he kept pushing into her until he was deep inside with his balls caressing her ass. 62

“Ah! You feel so good!” he moaned. “Don’t stop.” Zafar moved slowly out, plunging back in. He closed his eyes as he fucked her ass slowly, hoping that this night could last. On a whim he pulled out to turn her over to her back, pushing his dick back inside her ass. “I want to watch your face.” He pushed two fingers deep inside her pussy as he started a rhythm with her ass. He kissed her hard as her first orgasm hit, enjoying how her ass would tighten on him just as her pussy did. Zafar broke the kiss but his lips still touched her as he moved faster in and out of her ass. He removed his fingers from her pussy, going to her clit to rub it as fast as he could. “Come for me again. I want you to come as I do,” he said against her lips. Aneksi closed her eyes as her mouth opened to give a silent scream as another powerful orgasm hit her. Zafar felt her body start to tighten up as he kissed her deeply again. His mouth muffled her scream as she tightened hard on him. This pushed Zafar over the edge, making him spurt deep and hard inside her ass. Zafar laid his forehead against her own as he worked on catching his breath. He was still feeling some aftershocks. “I can’t let you go,” he said. “You have to. Only the one who beats me gets to have me.” Zafar looked deep into her eyes. “Then I shall have to be the one to beat you.” ****** Zafar sat in the great hall watching Bebi fight a man who was about the same size as her. His eyes kept trailing over to Aneksi and Hakem. Every so often she would look over his way, then quickly move her eyes to another part of the hall. The men that were still left laughed when Bebi dropped the man she was fighting to the ground. She kicked his weapons away from him, and then landed a hard kick to his groin. Two servants walk over to him, helping the man to his feet. 63

competition and would be sent home in the morning. Aten stood up to address the small group of men that were still there. “Is anyone here man enough to take my daughter?” Bebi stood in the middle of the room just glaring at the men. She had the look which said she did not think that any of them were strong enough. A large man who was leaning against the back wall spoke up. “I’ll take her.” Aneksi noticed that this man was as tall as Zafar but he looked meaner. His hair was short, not long as most with no shirt or vest on. He walked up to a servant taking the staff from his hand, and then he looked at Bebi. “I’m Dendera, and tonight you will be under me.” Bebi looked to Aten for the signal to begin. When he sat back down he raised his arm. Bebi went on attack. She swung her staff in a downward motion, just missing Dendera’s leg. Dendera swung his own staff tapping her on the back hard enough to leave a bruise come morning. “That will hurt in the morning.” Dendera teased her, “Along with other stuff.” Aneksi looked over at Zafar. He was watching her with such a hunger in his eyes that a chill went down her spine. Hakem also saw the exchange, moving slightly so that Aten wouldn’t see a thing. Bebi tried again to attack, and again Dendera moved away. As she moved next to him he tapped her on the back of her legs, leaving a red mark. When Bebi went down to her knees, Dendera walked up behind her. He placed his staff in front of her neck, putting enough pressure on for her to have hard time breathing. Bebi grabbed onto the staff, trying with all her might to break the hold. “Do you yield?” Dendera hissed. Bebi was starting to turn red in the face from the pressure he was putting on her, but still she wouldn’t say the words. Aten stood up, walking towards them. When Dendera saw the Pharaoh, he released Bebi to step back. Aten backhanded Bebi hard. “You shame me this way.” He looked at Dendera, “Take your bride from my sight.” 64

Chapter 8
Aneksi was kneeling in front of Isis, praying for the guidance that she so desperately needed. It has been two nights since Zafar came to her chamber. Two night since Bebi lost her battle, with Aten taking to his bed, sick. She tried with all of her might to stay away from him, but her soul was crying out for him. She knew he was her destiny. Not because Hakem had prophesized it but because her heart was feeling again. She remembered the words her mother told her so very long ago. The words were, when the one you were destined to be with comes, your heart will yield to him. Hakem walked into the temple as quiet as always, but Aneksi could always tell when he was near. “I feel so torn,” Aneksi said. “Your soul yearns for him.” “And he?” “He watches you. I see the need in his eyes.” “Yet he doesn’t come to me again.” “He will not dishonor you.” Hakem placed his hand on her shoulder. “Talk to Aten. It’s time you mend this wrong.” Aneksi felt tears start to form. It has been so long since she cried. She was always told it was weakness to do so. “Aten has made peace with one of the neighboring claim. Hetepi is to be married tonight.” “And I’m to fight for the crown.” She stood up, looking at Hakem. “Whatever choice I make, I have to live by it.” Hakem kissed her hand. “Your choice won’t be wrong.” **** Aneksi sat with Tia and Bebi as Hetepi with her new husband stood before Pharaoh as he gave him their blessing. Even though she didn’t look around, Aneksi could 66

feel Zafar watching her. Aten was looking even worse than before. His face was so pale, with dark circles under his eyes. Sitting in his chair he looked so very tiny, and way too old. Aneksi noticed that Hetepi was looking very happy. Hakem told her later on that she should talk to Aten about the union, and her wish to marry her choice of husband. Aneksi was very surprise that Aten granted the wish. Sabu was sitting next to Zafar. Both were drinking the fine wine that had been brought out and eating the good food. Sabu knew that something was going on with his friend. He was going to do whatever he could to help him get through it, or to get what he wanted. “Most of the men that are left are planning on leaving in the morning,” Sabu said. “They all were hoping to get a chance to fight Hetepi.” “What about Aneksi?” Sabu looked at his friend. “There is talk that you have already staked a claim.” “And she is way too good of a fighter,” Dendera said, sitting down next to them. Zafar looked at both men as if they gone mad. “Pharaoh has heard this also,” Dendera said. “He watches you both very closely.” “Not because of dishonor,” Sabu replied, “But to see if you have his daughter’s heart.” “If you are the one for her, he will give her to you,” Dendera continued. “His time grows short. He wants to have all of them married.” “Aneksi, Tia, Bebi. Dance for us!” Aten yelled. All three men turned to watch as the girls stood up. All were dressed the same with white crisscross tops and loose skirts that were slit up to the waist. Servants came, rushing out to set up for music. The second the music started, the girls started moving their hips very seductively in circles. Zafar watched Aneksi closely. Every move of her body would bring a rush of desire throughout his whole body. As the music started to pick up speed, the girls did as well. Hakem brought out Aneksi’s pet snake and handed it to her. She wrapped the thing 67

around her as she moved her body in a motion that men made dream of how their women would ride them. The other two were twirling around in circles with Aneksi in the middle. She went down to the ground, letting the snake stretch out before her. As the last notes were played she crawled over the snake, looking at the men with pure lust in her eyes. By the time she reached the head, still moving her hips to the music, her eyes met Zafar’s in a silent promise of bliss. Aten clapped his hands. “Very nice, very nice indeed!” Aneksi picked her snake up, handing him back to Hakem. She looked one more time at Zafar as she went back to her place next to her father. Aneksi noticed out of the corner of her eye that Zafar was leaving the hall. She made sure not to seem as if she noticed, but Aten did. He picked up all the signs that were in front of him about his daughter. In a move so unexpected for him, Aten brushed his hand through Aneksi’s hair just before he stood up to head for his chambers. Menes, Hetepi’s new husband, requested that no one witness what was needed for his bedding of his bride, departed soon after Aten did. Aneksi took a bottle of wine, heading back to her chamber with Hakem following close by. The person who was in her room waiting for her was the last person that would ever cross her mind. Aten stood at the same spot that Aneksi would, stand looking out over the Nile. Hakem saw Aten, giving Aneksi a slight push before he closed the door. “What are you doing here, Aten?” “The yearly storms are fast approaching.” He looked at Aneksi, “And my time grows short.” Aneksi walked over towards him. She looked out at the Nile, watching as the wind was causing waves to pound. “Your mother loved the water. That was where I first saw her. She was sitting next to the bank with a baby snake in her hand, humming. She was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen.” Aten looked at Aneksi, “And I did love her back then.” Aneksi walked away from him. “Then why did you hurt her?” 68

“We hurt each other as we were too young to have gotten married. My father raised me to always take what I wanted. So when I saw her, I took her.” He sighed deeply. “There is always some kind of consequence when you take something that you’re not supposed to have.” Aneksi looked at her father and saw pain in his eyes. She saw real pain. “Your mother was of good blood, and I took what I shouldn’t have. She was to be married to another but she was carrying my child.” When he saw the shock in Aneksi’s eyes he smiled. “Yes. She was carrying you. My daughter.” Aten sat down on the bed, looking so much older than what he was. Aneksi stood where she was, having a most difficult time understanding all of this. “I always blamed you for what I did. You were my punishment. Until I accepted you I would have no sons. But I couldn’t. I tell you all this now since I do not want you to end up without a heart like me.” He stood back up, walking over to her. Placing both hands on her shoulders he went on: “Don’t take, give. Love like your mother showed you how.” Aten did something that in all her life he'd never done before. He kissed her on the forehead for the first time ever. Aneksi watched him walk about of her chamber. This time when the tears came, she let them fall. In all of her life the one thing she wanted the most was for her father to love her, and tonight she got her wish. ***** Aneksi stood outside Zafar’s tent with her dark cloak wrapped around her as the wind beat against her body. She watched him move around, taking his clothes off, drink from a cup, and then running his hands through his hair. He paced the tent several times before he extinguished his oil lamp. She waited a good ten minutes before she started the walk that would change her life. She stopped just in front, with a sudden desire to turn and head back. But her father’s words kept coming back to her. ‘Don’t take, give.’ Taking a deep breath, Aneksi walked into the tent, seeing Zafar laying in his bed, looking up at nothing. The bed was nothing more than skins and furs piled in the middle. He looked at 69

her as he slowly sat up. Their eyes met, yet no words came. Aneksi slowly pulled her cloak open to let it slide down her arms, showing her naked body to him. She walked the remainder of the steps to his bed, taking the fur that was covering him and pulling it completely off of him. Zafar was naked under the covers like she was standing before him. His cock was alive and hard, but all he could do was sit there, watching her. She started to crawl onto the bed between his legs. When she reached his cock she sucked it into her mouth, letting the head touch the back of her throat. Zafar groaned, grabbing her hair as she bobbed up and down on him. He rose up on one elbow, trying to control the raging lust that was threatening to overtake him. “Grrrrrr!” Zafar came hard and suddenly, bucking his hips as the pleasure overtook him. He half expected for her to leave him now, not for her to climb the rest of the way on top. “What are you doing?” he asked. “Giving.” “Aneksi….” She placed her fingers over his lips to stop him from talking. “Take what I give. Let me love and be loved this very night.” He kissed her fingers. “If this happens, I won’t be able to let you go.” She kissed him deeply as she spread her legs to straddle him, letting the heat of her cunt surround his cock. She was already wet with need for him and aching for his touch. That was when his hands finally closed around her breasts, with her almost coming from the pleasure of his touch. Zafar sat up, trailing kisses down her neck to her breasts. Aneksi moaned as she moved her hips, trying to get the friction that she needed. Zafar touched her clit, hearing a faint ‘yes’ from her. “You can still back out. There is still time,” he said. Aneksi pushed him back down on the bed. She took hold of his cock, rubbing it against her wet lips. Zafar placed his hands on her hips, rubbing them up and down as he 70

let her take charge while he tried to get some sort of control over himself. He bit his lip as she positioned the head of his cock at her tight entrance. “Be very sure about this, Aneksi. Once I am in, even part way, there’s no backing out.” Aneksi looked at him as she placed both of her hands on his chest. Very slowly she lowered her body down on his cock, letting him fill her up inch by inch. She felt no discomfort, only pure bliss and completeness. She was hit with a sudden sharp burst of pain as her virginity was given away. Her eyes were closed tightly while her mouth opened in a silent cry. Zafar had his eyes closed also. He was fighting the urge to pound into her hard. He took many deep breaths so he could give her the time she needed to accustom herself to him. “I never knew that it could be like this,” she said “This is just the beginning.” When she opened her eyes and looked at him, Zafar smiled at her. “Start moving.” Aneksi used her legs to move up, and then slowly back down. All the sensations that went through her body were nameless. Up and down she moved on him, bringing herself closer to the ultimate goal. The moment her first orgasm hit, Zafar thought he would lose his control. Her pussy tightened so tightly on his cock that he groaned as she moaned out her release. Quickly, Zafar flipped her underneath him. He watched her eyes as she came down from her high. They looked at each other as unspoken words of love passed between them. He kissed her gently as he sank back into her heat. Her moaning only increased his speed until they both were holding on to each other, fighting off their release as much as they could. In the end they both cried out together, their passion bringing them as close as anything could. Aneksi held Zafar tightly, with him still deeply imbedded inside of her. She held onto all the memories that this night had brought her. She held onto him like a lover would while stealing the moments that she could. 71

Zafar raised himself up on his arms, looking down at her. “More. If this is to be my only night with you, I want more.” He pulled out of her to flip her over to her hands and knees. Acting like a man possessed, he entered her body with a force that left her trembling. He fucked her hard and fast, pinching her nipples between his fingers. “Scream for me. I want to hear your pleasure loudly.” Zafar rotated his hips as he pounded into her as hard as he could. He had to hold onto her hips to keep her on her knees. “Oh!” she cried. “I’m coming!” “Fuck!” Aneksi screamed as she came hard. Her pussy contracted hard on his cock as he continued to slam into her, pushing him over the edge. How he managed to keep fucking her as he spurted deep inside her womb, he never knew. Zafar was so spent that he barley managed to move off of her and over to the side to bring her into his arms. When he fell asleep, he was unsure, but when he woke as the sun was just starting to rise in the sky, he was alone. The only proof that Aneksi was there having given him the most precious gift was the blood on his skins in bed. ***** Aneksi stood looking out at the Nile from her chamber as the sun rose very high in the sky. The wind was still picking up as the clouds were approaching, fast bringing the storm with them. She was wearing her new outfit that Hakem had made for this day, the day she was to fight. The day that she would fight against her future husband, whoever that might be. Aneksi knew that her heart had finally mended because of the pain she was feeling right now. She didn’t carry any regret over what she gave away; her only regret that she wasn’t strong enough after all to stand up for what she wanted. When Hakem found her, she was at the temple of Isis. He had the headpiece he made for her in his hands as he walked into the temple. “I ask for the guidance I need but she doesn’t answer,” Aneksi said. 72

“She has answered you already.” Aneksi looked at Hakem. Her face was wet from the many tears that she shed. Some for her past, some for the loss she was feeling now. “For the first time I don’t know what to do,” Aneksi cried as fresh tears ran down her face. Hakem wrapped his young arms around her. For the first time he was getting the chance to comfort her. “You have always known what to do,” he said, brushing her hair. “You need to find the courage to stand up for your heart.” He knelt down in front of her taking her face in his hands. “The Gods have given you the gift. He has given you the gift of love. Take what is given and live.” He kissed the top of her head and placed the golden crown with the mother cobra on top of her head. **** The great hall was almost bare. Many of the men left during the night. Aten sat at his throne, looking as if he was fighting Anubis to stay longer. Hetepi, Bebi, and Tia all sat with their new husbands, waiting to see if anyone would stand up to fight their sister. Aneksi stood alone in the middle of the room. Her Sais hung in her hands to her side, along with her head. If her heart were as hard as it use to be, this would not have bothered her so much. She would have been glad that no man wanted to challenge her but now it only brought her pain. “No man will challenge my daughter?” Aten said, in a weak voice. Thunder crashed down just then. The rains poured down hard, still no man that was left stood up. Aneksi turned around to Aten. He saw the pain in her eyes with it tearing at him. With death on his door, he finally saw his daughter. He saw all the hurt he put her through as she grew up without the love of her mother. “I’m sorry , Aneksi,” he said. Aneksi looked at Aten, letting the tears fall. Never had she let him see her cry, not since the night she put her mother to rest in the Nile. She was about to walk out of the hall when the doors banged open. Someone came to challenge. Aneksi, looking at Aten, turned around to face whoever it was. Her heart started 73

pounding as she watched Zafar walk with a purpose. He carried no weapons in his hands, just a very determined look. Zafar stopped in front of Aneksi. He knew that taking this kind of stand could mean his death. But to him, death would be much better than going on without her. Zafar took her face in his hands and kissed her. He kissed her with all the passion and love he felt. Aneksi dropped her Sais to wrap her arms around his neck as she kissed him back. Hunger radiated off of each them as their kiss deepened. Both forgot that they were in the great hall with her family watching them. Only with the clearing of Aten’s throat did they break from each other. “You have made your choice?” Aten asked Aneksi. “I have,” she responded. Aten smiled at her. “Then my gift to you is my blessing.” Aneksi smiled at her father. In all her life she never got a blessing from him or any sign of affection. This competition gave her both. Zafar picked Aneksi up. He looked over to the priest that would be saying the binding words to make them husband and wife. “Follow us to say them. By the time I reach her chamber, she better be mine.” Within twenty minutes, Zafar and Aneksi were in her bedchamber as Aneksi rode Zafar hard.
