We are pleased to invite you to the 16th Annual Pediatric Board Review Symposium, August 30 – September 3, 2010, at our new location: Renaissance Cleveland Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio. The primary objective of the symposium is to provide a comprehensive pediatric board review, which will prepare you for board certification or recertification. The quality and breadth of the symposium is also attractive for individuals needing a comprehensive review of basic pediatric clinical information. There are several unique features that set this review above the others. These include the use of an audience response system, which allows the attendee to gauge their knowledge base and become familiar with board-type questions while attending the symposium. This format also allows the lecturer to introduce topics in a question and answer format and to stress board examination-relevant information. In addition, there are general pediatric and specialty-specific board simulation sessions, during which board relevant questions/answers and rationale will be discussed. Finally, all full symposium registration attendees will receive, as part of their syllabus material, the new 3rd edition of the 583-page textbook, The Cleveland Clinic Intensive Review of Pediatrics. This textbook is based on this symposium, and it is the first comprehensive textbook to specifically focus on pediatric board review certification and recertification. We hope that you will join us for what promises to be a memorable educational event. Objectives As a result of attending this symposium, the participant will be able to do the following: • Demonstrate core knowledge necessary to pass the pediatric board examination or recertification exam; • Recognize dysmorphic syndromes and identify the more common syndromes seen in pediatrics; • Discuss a differential diagnosis when given a specific patient presentation; • Interpret laboratory findings and construct a therapeutic plan for patients with a wide variety of pediatric disease processes.
Target Audience This symposium is directed to physicians preparing for Pediatric Board Certification or Recertification and physicians desiring a comprehensive update of basic pediatric clinical information.
