By all means make the time to see not only Munich but venture out and explore "beyond"! On the following pages we want to acquaint you with some of its mountains, lakes and charming villages. Most places of interest can eastely be visited by train. The Bavarian government has seen to it that sightworthy places such as Germisch-Partenki rchen. The most sought after is the Bayern-Ticket. It allows up to 5 persons to travel unlimited anywhere in the state all day (weekdays from 9.00 am to 3.00 the next morning, sundays & holidaysfrom midnightto 3,00 the next day) from 24 turos-. If you are traveling on your own there is also a Bayern-TicketSingle from 17 turos -. "prices for tic kets purchased at vendi ng machines or via intemet, a ll oth er locations add 2 Euro. (rat es from 08/2005)
Most destinations are served from early morning till late evening on an hourly basis and - to make connections more convenient - manytrains arriveat main stations simultaneously.
