Meet the Color Family.
Colors are everywhere you look, And each color has a name: Red, yellow, blue, Orange, purple, green,
Let’s play the Color Game!
The color RED helps keep us safe. Red means danger; Red says, “STOP!”
Do what these signs tell you, And you’ll always stay on top.
YELLOW is the color of a warning light,
And of a banana you peel and eat.
There are yellow stars twinkling in the night, And yellow daffodils that smell so sweet.
BLUE is the color of the ocean.
Blue is the color of the sky.
And Nandi’s balloon is colored blue. It’s the biggest one she could buy.
Colors are magic! Just see what you can do.
Make a third color by mixing two.
Red mixed with yellow makes ORANGE.
Blue mixed with yellow makes GREEN.
Red mixed with blue makes PURPLE.
Now, that’s the neatest trick I’ve seen!
BROWN is the color
of many people Whom you know.
And brown is the color of the basketball you throw.
BLACK is the color of Tura’s cornrowed hair. And of those shiny shoes That she likes to wear.
When it snows, all the world looks WHITE. And kids have fun at winter play, With snowmen or a snowball fight, Or riding downhill on a sleigh.
On a cold and rainy day GRAY is the color of the sky. Stef s gray cap and scarf and gloves Help to keep him warm and dry.
Summer colors are bright and gay. When school is out, it’s time to play and time now to play the Color Game. How many colors can you name?
Stef, the artist, is quite proud of his picture, you can see. He put all of his colors just where they ought to be. Red
