Chapter 4 “Aimee?” Aimee’s brother, Bradeon, was glaring at her over the trans unit. She didn’t want to be bothered right now. She’d been back in Kantrer for a full moon cycle, and she was miserable. Her brother and his mates had done their best to cheer her. They attributed her despair to the fact that she’d lost Sam, they didn’t realize she had an added reason for her misery. She missed Velorn, desperately. Well, actually, she missed JarrRon. The man was a bully—demanding, insistent, proud, brave—ohhhhh, he was a beast! And she loved him, desperately. Jardem-cursed legion commander! “Aimee!” her brother shouted. “What!” She wanted no cheering up! “We have an invitation.” He was looking at her as if waiting for some kind of reaction. Aimee looked away from the trans unit monitor, losing interest in what Brad was telling her. “Oh, that’s nice.” “It’s to Velorn.” “What?” “It seems a certain legion commander has issued an invitation to me and my family. All of them.” Aimee clapped her hands, unable to hide her excitement. “Aimee,” Brad warned, “I wouldn’t read into this.” “What do you mean?” Aimee was angry now. 65


“This might be a simple invitation.” “Fine, I promise I won’t get my hopes up.” But she could hardly help herself. Did Jarr miss her? Oh, Jardem, she hoped so. **** Aimee paced the bedroom that had been hers the last time she ‘visited’ Velorn. Her heart had leapt into her throat when they’d been escorted into the dining room as soon as they arrived. She'd been happy to see Sareen, who was happily senetted, and Drandol who was every bit the proud father-tobe. Her brother and Hank’s mate, Dren, was also senetted again and due to deliver within three moon cycles, their two other children had remained home in Kantrer with a sitter. But it was when she’d met Jarr’s burning gaze that her heart melted in her chest. Stars, she loved him! She wanted him to grab her and bring her directly upstairs so they could make love. And from the look in his eyes, he wanted to comply with her wishes. The meal had been all very cordial, and by the end Aimee was ready to scream her frustration. The men left the women to discuss manly things in the other room, she supposed. Now, she knew Jarr would come to her. She felt it in her heart. When she heard the sound of the door opening, Aimee almost tripped. Oh, Jardem! How beautiful he looked! How incredibly handsome! His big body filled her doorway, his stance tight, as if he was restraining himself from attacking her. His gaze devoured her, when he saw she stood dressed in the Velorn clothing she’d kept with her when she left. 66


Both of them stood motionless. But when Jarr glanced down to where her breasts peeked out of the edges of her vest, Aimee came to a decision. She whipped it off, revealing her breasts to him. He choked in response. Aimee smiled at him. “Shall you greet me, Master, or shall I greet you?” JarrRon laughed with relief, rushing her, grabbing her and kissing her senseless. After he had her moaning, suckling her breasts to his heart’s desire, Jarr lifted his head, gazing into her eyes. “Welcome home, Mistress. Yours, if that is your desire.” “Jarr,” Aimee whispered as she held his beloved face in between her hands. “Are you telling me you want me to stay, forever?” Jarr nodded. “More than anything on this planet or any other.” “Oh, Jarr!” she exclaimed, raining fervent kisses on his face. “Yes...yes!” They went back to kissing, while Jarr carried her over to her bed. In their excitement, they simply tore off the rest of their clothing when they’d fallen onto her bed with a crash. Both naked, JarrRon rammed his dick into her pussy, making love to her as if he was in desperate need of release. And feeling the same, Aimee gave as good as she got, until they came together in an explosive release. When it was over, they lay spent in each other’s arms, softly caressing and kissing. “I’ve asked your brother for you.” Aimee looked up in surprise. “Asked him for me?” “To be my mate.” 67


His last word was drowned by the sound of her excited squeal, as, with lightning speed, she moved up to smother him in kisses. Jarr laughed at her antics, pushing her away slightly, so he could gaze at her. “So I guess that’s a yes?” “Yes, yes, yes! Oh, Jarr! I love you!” “And I adore you,” he said in all seriousness. “I had to bring you back to me. I was miserable.” “Ohhh, poor baby,” she said, kissing his chest, while she gazed up at his face. “It’s not amusing. Not only was I miserable, but everyone else was miserable, too. The last time I came back from several days with the legion, Kyrna came to me demanding that I greet her, but I had no desire, none. Not since you left me. She guessed the cause of my action and demanded I bring you home. I didn’t need one willful servant to make me realize I wanted you home with us. But it did make me think that if we were miserable without you, maybe you were miserable without us, too.” “Oh, Jarr, I was! I was devastated without you, Kyrna, and the others. I want to stay. This is my home, barbarian country that it is.” She kissed his chin, climbing on him, so she could lean over to kiss him more fully. “Shall we begin our ‘greetings’ again, my love?” Jarr teased her. “Oh, Jarr, yes, please!” And that they did.
